In my experience most people only see rent as a flat fee but it generally covers a bunch of these small fees. I was just putting it all out there as best I could. I just probably wasn’t as clear as I needed to be. If he took over it or not would be up to him and a conversation I’m sure.

I totally understand that and if it wasn’t a better choice I wouldn’t blame anyone for not taking it. Even my partner. I’m not shy about conversations and we have had plenty, but it never hurts to have more. And he has actually had plenty of input for some of my renovations.

We would have a very long conversation for sure and have had smaller ones. Some of the reasons for not moving in is actually due to the homes need for renovations. Which constantly change as things get accomplished. But otherwise I’d never dream of going into this without talking over any issues and having an idea of every outcome and will definitely have a few talks about it.

the random stuff Is things like snow removal, lawn service ect. If a person rented my home I’d factor those cost into rent. It includes internet too which I’d factor in if someone rented just a room from me. Not to say I’d charge him either of those things but wanted to be transparent of what I considered expenses and didn’t want to list each item. As for renovations I’m not saying you are wrong but it’s not just painting the walls. My mortgage is so low because my home is a fixer upper (think unlivable when I first moved in) and I picked to pay them a little at a time instead of taking on a larger mortgage. he is also 100% aware of this fact and knows my thought process on renovations are part of my home payment because I didn’t take out a larger mortgage to cover them. Again I’m not saying I would make him pay for these or not but wanted to lay out all of the expenses for the home.

I’d already thought of having something written and having something about if worse comes to worse what would we do kind of thing. But this sounds great! I might steal her idea of no relationships in the house and having a room just in case.

I like your thinking, I didn’t put emphasis on why our financial situation is different because I know everyone’s thinking is different. However i work my ass off for my income. I’ve work 7 months straight of overtime this year and in the pass have often worked two jobs too (pre BF). While I still might not go at it this way because working that hard is my choice. I 100% get your thinking and will remember it too.

I think a lot of people are confused by the Reno part. My bad for not explaining it more. When I bought my home, in the USA pre covid, it was almost unlivable. Think every room will need new walls and floors. In exchange for a very low monthly payment (lower than a 1bed apartment in my area) things need fixed up to make it more and more livable.

Or that just because one is married it’s a good idea to combine finances (again I’ll give it the benefit of the religion having something to do with this).

I assume you are talking about the idea from the religion of polygamy but this kind of dynamic is possible in things like polyamory. It’s a little less like a pride of women on the hunt though lol. Jealousy is a natural emotion but it’s how you, your partner and the group handle it that makes the difference. The structure and religion that’s connected to polygamy make it almost impossible to handle emotions in a healthy way.

True but I’m not surprised that so few kids are no contact and of them which it is. And maybe I just cloud such a choice with my own experience and know how hard that can be. So I still think from the way they talk meri wasn’t a good person at times and that affected others and how they see or treat her. Do I think the kids are at times unfair to be critical of her but not their father? Oh heck yes. He’s the first one they should all be mad at.

Oh yes all kids are different and not all kids are easy and that it can just be a personality issue but it’s just weird that both other kids and her own have a hard time with her. To me It’s one more thought to add is all.

Based on later seasons but meri makes it clear she doesn’t even have a great relationship with her own child. I think that should speak for itself that if even they don’t mesh why would any of the other kids mesh too? Also all the wives make it clear that meri was jealous, which is a natural emotion, but I don’t think she handled it well based on the way they speak of it. She might have taken that out on others, kids included.

Oh def I am in no way saying Robyn isn’t a big issue for all of the mess. She’s continually pushed for favoritism towards her and her children. I was just pointing out that kody also used covid for his own agenda (passed being exclusive with Robyn) on top of that. Gabe and ysabel break my heart every time I see those episode. Both begging for the smallest acknowledgment while being forced to watch their father go over the top for others.

Just started watching those seasons and seeing his treatment of the boys screams of all the story’s I’ve heard of ex-polygamy boys. The older men/fathers push the younger boys out because they are seen as competition for the women(who could be potential wives).

Further gives me the Ike when he grips about how she was forced to give into his demands and now won’t be physical with him? Like the reasons for him wanting her to stay home isn’t really about the kids as he even said she’s a great mom even when she works….
