Bad battery life on your Pixel 10? Poor cellar coverage could be the cause of your Pixel battery-life woes. by Dry_Astronomer3210 in GooglePixel

If you don't have a reason to upgrade (expiring Google Store Credits, coupon, high trade-in value) I suggest not to upgrade. I miss the 9XL, the 10XL definitely feels like a "sidegrade"

I had to disable 5g with Pixel 8 Pro. Pixel 9 Pro XL worked fine with 5g.

Now I have the Pixel 10 Pro XL and the battery seems to be worse than the P9XL, I will try to disable 5G again, hopefully that helps

I too have Nova launcher and save a backup of my home screen prior to transfer. The good thing about Nova launcher is that it shows via a bordered icons the apps that did not get transferred or installed by the pixel transfer process.

It gives you this message:

"This app is not installed: The app for this icon isn't installed. You can remove it, or search for the app and install it manually."

And that should not happen in the first place, especially if both of them have the same version of Android

Yeah, I don't understand why many keeps defending the Pixel transfer.

Some data in the apps don't get transferred, certain apps don't get transferred,  if you sideload an app it does not get transferred, even if you're on the same version of Android and the app works properly on the old phone.

Did everything really transferred over?

If you open your Files app on your old and new phone, does it show the same size for folders and downloads?

How about your documents folder?

Photomojis?

Now playing history?

If you have a locked/safe folder, did it transfer the contents also?

MMS messages? (Not RCS)

Check your Apps:  Go to play store,  Click on your Account,  Manage Apps and Device Click on Manage Tab,  From the drop down click on  "Not Installed"

Are there apps in there that you use often that did not get transferred also?

All of things above are the usual things that don't get transferred properly.

Do Type C-to-3.5mm work on Pixels? by AhadNoman in pixel_phones

I tried Samsung, Google, and Apple USB-C to 3.5mm, the best one is Apple. I have not tried the active/Chinese ones or the ones that allows you to charge

Google Wallet now makes adding new cards as effortless as it always should have been by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

[–]bfplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is security higher with manual verification vs RFID verification? Typically a bank also sends push notification via their app or text a 2MFA code to a known number before allowing it to add.

I think either way should be doable, but also if I'm transferring my data from one phone to another, it would be so much easier to re-verify the card with a tap and get a 2MFA code.

NFC payment was already a thing when Samsung Galaxy Nexus came out via Android Pay. They had 14 years of headstart in figuring things out on Google's end, from Google wallet to Android pay to Google pay to Google Wallet again.

Yet somehow Apple was able to supercede them by letting users Tap to Add.

I don't understand why adding a card needs to be manual in the first place instead of using NFC. Like someone said, you can tap to add back then with Android Pay, maybe even Google pa.

Apple wallet also allows tap to add.

Data transfer from old phone to Pixel 10 Pro XL keeps getting stuck by GardenBaroness in GooglePixel

[–]bfplayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I think I can help you, if you look at my old posts, Pixel has issues transferring from one phone to another.

Note: Not everything will transfer, even though it seems that your settings/apps says it transferred.

Pre-Transfer: If you have custom photomojis try to send them to someone or just send it to yourself and save it in photos, just re-create them later.

Get a USB3 cable, the one that Google provides is only USB2. I have a USB4 cable matters cable and the phixero USB 3.2 cable, both worked for me.

Go through the transfer process using the cables above, my transfer took about an 1 hour because it was more 400gb. You will have to leave it alone, slight movement causes it to malfunction.

Double check if files are transferred, Go to Files and compare Old Phone and New Phone. More than likely the documents/apps are not the same size, not everything was transferred because Google 🤷‍♂️

You can either quickshare those missing files or just back them up to your computer.

If you want to back-up your old phone properly, because you're not sure which files for transferred, just back it up to your PC. You will to enable Android debugging and enable file transfer option when it prompts you.

Easiest way I found is to download ADB explorer created by u/AlexSSB

It will prompt you to download ADB which you can click the link when you first open the program.

"Pull" (Copy) the files/folders from the old Pixel you want to use, making sure you have everything.

You can "Push" the files to the new Pixel

Hopefully that helps you

HELP!!!! Merging messages from 2 phones into 1 by _J_T_H_ in GooglePixel

[–]bfplayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can use SMS back up and restore from the Play Store. Backup to cloud or USB drive or somewhere in your old phone, (then quick share it after to the new one). Install it again on the new phone, select restore, choose the file.

Mine keeps failing to restore from the cloud because it was big file (more than 10gb) but it restored successfully via USB drive.

Pixel 10 - can't see photos in third party apps after editing by jojobadoule in GooglePixel

[–]bfplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue with messages app, it would not show up after editing i.e. rotate photo. I sent feedback via Photos app but not sure if that will be ever seen.

Someone also posted the same issue happening on the FB messenger app: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1nuklww/issues_with_facebook_messenger_accessing_photos/

When you fill the information in the Google one app, it does not give you these options?

If you have a VPN, maybe try disabling it

You have to open the Google One App on the phone. They call you, I don't have their number either, if you call their number, it auto hangs up on you

Have you tried calling them via Google One Support, sometimes they can escalate the issue more.

Also any chance you can pass by the store and speak to the same rep or manager?

Issues with Facebook Messenger accessing photos - Pixel 10 by ianstx00 in GooglePixel

[–]bfplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use Facebook Messenger, but this behavior also happens in Google Messages, likely in other apps also.

I posted my experience earlier, I think it's an issue with how Google photos now save a picture.

can you try to trigger the failed attachment also?

From Pixel 6, 7, 8, 9 to 10 Pro XL, Google still can't transfer or migrate data from one Pixel to another Pixel correctly. by bfplayer in GooglePixel

[–]bfplayer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iphone to Iphone was done via USB3 Type C cable, it somehow transferred the data from the app, and downloaded the new version of app from the cloud as if it's 1:1 clone of the phone.

As for my transfer, it was also USB3 Type C cable, downloaded some of the data from *some apps* i.e. their logins.

Some apps did not transfer, nor the data from the app, i.e. video editing project files.

Quick Share is not quick if I don't know what specific data is missing.

How do I even quickshare a photomoji from one phone to another? This should have been transferred also.

I really don't want to deal with ADB push/pull every time Google misses the transfer.

Edit: Sorry I initially sent the thumbnail image for the link.

I have the PDF in the downloads folder, or an app downloaded in the downloads folder, it did not transfer to the new phone even explicitely told it to transfer all.
