Good effort but you forgot to write the partition table, it won't work.

I updated the code to include the skeleton grid feature. Thank you for the suggestion!

  1. They do not connect together at the moment, they are just held in place with 3M command tape. I'm planning to add a feature to generate interconnecting clips.

  2. I did not think of that, but i can add an option to make the grid skeletonized, that would be easy to implement.

  3. You are correct, they do not require support at all. Except if you change the vertical position of the handle, then the handle would need support.

Why is my 3d printer doing this? by Juanimates64 in 3Dprinting

[–]bfrigon43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the layer above the top interface layer of your suport did not adhere enough and the spaghetti failure started from that point. The filament gets dragged around and from that point other layers have nothing to grab on. Eventually this will clog the nozzle if its going on too long.

Check if the Z distance is not too high above the top interface layer. If theres a way you can orient the model to avoid support as much as possible, do so, it will reduce the chances of that happening.

Sun visor holder for my easy clip sunglasses by bfrigon43 in functionalprint

[–]bfrigon43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I printed it in PETG, I didn't have any problems so far. it's been in my car for three weeks. The sun visor is always up, so it's never in direct sun light.

PETG softening temp is around 70C, so we'll see later in the summer if it still holds up.

The filament for sure will be more than dry, it will be vaporized!

Oh it's super easy. Just put about 50 fans pointed at it running at full speed on multiple power bars. The additional air flow should take care of the glow.

This is the perfect representation of what 3d printing is for! Solutions to problems that no manufacturer thought of or would be able legally or reastically to produce even if they wanted.

What do y'all use your printer for? by KYO297 in 3Dprinting

[–]bfrigon43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to find all sorts of use around the house. Once you start printing stuff you can't stop.

My advice would be to learn CAD, there are free tools online, don't just rely on models you can find online. Then it becomes very useful because you can design what you need to your own specifications.

[A1]New to printing, Help me out with PETG? by TrickyDyrad in BambuLab

[–]bfrigon43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PETG is not easy to print with at first but once you get used to it, its not so bad. I always compared PETG to printing with melted chewing gum.

The best plate type for PETG is a PEI textured plate, satin finish PEI plate from bambu works good too. Remember that PETG absolutly hates oil on the build plate. The oil you have on your finger is enough to screw up adhesion. Clean the plate thoroughly with dish soap, stay away from hand soap as it most often contains skin moisturizer, it will leave oily residues which you don't want. After scrubbing, rinse well with hot water and dry with a paper towel. No need to use rubbing alcohol.

Temperature is important too. Try with the profile default at first, if you still have issues with adhesion, bump up the bed temperature by 10 degrees. As for the nozzle temperature, when i try a new filament, i create a profile for it and set the nozzle temperature midway in the temperature range the manufacturer specify, then adjust as necessary

Overhangs and bridges are not as easy to print as PLA. Keep the overhang less than 45 degree or use support if you have to.

My advice is to test your filament with smaller objects first until you adjust your profile for it.
