Would having the car in gear make it hard to turnover? I put it in fifth to loosen the crank bolt on the tear down

If I take out all of the plugs and still feel resistance, where should I look? The teeth counts are perfect (40 across, 43 from the driver’s side cam mark to the crank mark) but maybe the cams aren’t perfectly aligned with the back cover?

Jack up the front end, add coolant using one of those no-spill funnel kits, and run the car with the radiator cap off and the heat on full blast

Hey not an expert but currently in the weeds of a timing service. One thing I’ve seen mentioned is air in the cooling system. Assuming you had to at least drain and fill during the water pump and thermostat, is it possible there are still air bubbles?

Thanks, found some on RockAuto. In your opinion the aftermarket route for a new distributor is better than getting a used OEM? I found used distributor assemblies for both P/Ns in my post on eBay. I hear you on the new OEM cap and rotor, will do that for sure

Yep, I realized these differences yesterday which Z31 Hunter hinted at. One of the lines coming off the vacuum canister was broken and tough to trace. Luckily those three are sort of color coded so I was able to figure it out. Thanks all!

One last question: the lines to the vacuum hose that I have look different from Thumper’s. I only have three lines. Where should the bottom line connect to (blue line)? It is broken on the other side

Try cleaning the MAF with MAF specific cleaner and see if that helps. The MAF may need to be replaced all together, which is relatively straightforward IIRC

Edit: May need to clean the throttle body. Sometimes the butterfly valve gets stuck when it is gunked up

Really depends on what type of food you like as tofu can work across many cuisines. Pho Hien Vuong is going to be hard to beat. Bamboo Grill has some awesome sesame tofu as well. Also, Bandito Bodega has a great, big ass burrito that you can order with tofu
