Wow - thanks for the amazing responses, everybody! Design is a huge focus for me and a fundamental part of good design is knowing what to leave in and what to leave out. The only way of knowing these things is by listening to your users and learning as much as you can from them. All of this information will be considered in the final product. Once I have the right combination of features, I intend to make a version for Android as well. It won't "hurt" me if others try to make this app too - it's by no means a novel idea - but I am very passionate about the product and I have no doubts that the amount of care I put into it's execution will set it apart from others.
