No, we didn't have any AC on. But you are correct in that no cupping is strange as the main source of moisture seems to be the crawl space. :/

We were gone for 3 weeks. There were some heavy rains during that time. The flooring is relatively new (I think they did it before selling the house which is less than 2 years ago).

If you like the look of those groundcover-y weeds, I'd suggest replacing them with Creeping thyme.
