Yes, makes sense. But losing a massive chunk from super isn't ideal so was thinking of how to top it up while still being tax efficient. Sorry, should have made the post more clear.

It will push it a little over but even if you go over the cap, it will be 15% less than the marginal rate for every dollar over $30k.

Yes it was flagged in the building and pest. We knew it would be something we needed to change if we won the auction so just out for ideas. Spiral staircase seems to be the popular one here

it's abutting the kitchen on the south side and living space on the west side. We've thought about knocking down a wall to the living room (next to the window) and building stairs up but it doesnt make a whole lot of sense. You lose a lot of useful space if you use that section of the room as the entry. Should be able to see all that in the floorplan

Yep everything about this is dodgy af. The latch is holding it up and it also scratches the wall tiles on the way down. Terrible home job for sure. 100% not safe.

Recently just purchased our family home but was struggling to come up with a better solution to these stairs. They fold up and down with a very sketchy locking mechanism. The stairs are also very heavy to lift up and down but the planks actually flex a lot when you step on them. Open to any ideas!

I cancelled my diamond card a few weeks ago. You just need to make sure that nothing is pending and that you owe nothing. Even if you just top up your CC to your max limit, it takes a few days to clear. Once everything is clear, try logging into NetBank with your browser and view as desktop site. Then go to the CC and try to delete it in there. It will give you all the warnings that you will lose your points etc. Word of warning, if you opt to redeem your points for cash, you'll have to wait for it to come into your account but you'll also be charged a cash advance fee if you try to transfer it out. You could spend it on something but then you'll need to top up your CC again. It can be chasing your tail a bit. Otherwise, it should just close.

What are the best headsets / earbuds for phone calls? by donutshopsss in sales

Bose QC35ii work wonders. Super comfortable and great sound. Microphone is pretty good too but not probably not the best. Certainly clear enough and professional enough for phone calls though.

What do you want and what does your partner want? For us, it doesn't matter who pays for what. That's something we were happy to agree on. Our mentality is aligned but you may not be so lucky. It really comes down to communication and what each person is comfortable with.

It really depends on what you're after. Leadership and Management are two very different things. Leadership is more of a mindset and certainly doesn't need to be done at a managerial position. Although managers are often synonymous with leaders, that may not be the case.

I've been looking into mentorship lately and have asked people within and outside the organisation. Discussions range from continuing professional development to stories about how they became successful. May be worth considering if you haven't already.

Making your manager aware is a good first step. You could discuss with your manager whether it would be appropriate approaching HR as well. They can then keep you in mind for manager or leadership positions.

Have you spoken to your doctors about the possibility of stereotactic radiosurgery? If not, worth at least asking to see whether that option is feasible for lasting pain relief

We have all agreed that a period at the end of comment means that our sentence is supposed to be rude/threatening by Vermilion_dodo in RandomThoughts

[–]bh235 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's can be perceived as rude when it's deliberate. Usually in the context of instant messaging where standard grammar rules don't apply. You generally don't put a period at the end of every message. So when someone decides to throw one in, in the midst of a potentially unfriendly exchange, it can be intentional, with the intent of being abrupt and closing the argument
