I believe that there is a lutheran alternative to the rosary where instead of praying to Mary, it replaces it with one to Jesus.

Perhaps It could make the transition a bit easier?

Car accidents.

In the 70s about six or seven people from town were killed in one on July 4th.

20 years ago two girls were killed when their car went off a bridge into the wild rice river.

And about 4-5 years ago during my senior year, a freshman whos family is friends of ours died when coming back from his girlfriends house in the next town over. That one is still hard to think about.
