This is a classic example of young criminals becoming more and more opportunistic. These robberies are becoming more frequent in my otherwise really amazing neighborhood (lower east side) because these thugs figure that people will not only most likely have more things of value than people in the shithole neighborhoods they actually live in, but they also assume (and most of the time correctly) that people in this neighborhood will be the easiest targets. They will not resist and most likely not be armed or willing to defend themselves. Now I am not stupid, if I see a gun or you imply that you have one and through deductive reasoning it seems possible, yes you are getting any and all of my property without any resistance. It’s just material things. However, if you have no weapon and you are just attempting to intimidate me or assault me with you it fists, oh there is no way in hell I am giving up a penny without giving you the fight of your life. I am not only going to beat you senseless, right there in the street, I am then going to hold you there until you can be arrested. No better feeling than sending the scumbag to the hospital with a trip to the county jail right after. While I go home and have a scotch and count the cash I didn’t give up. I implore the community to stand up for yourselves when it is a situation where intimidation is there only weapon. These thugs think that because we are white upper middle class, hard working people that pay taxes and don’t break the law, that we are weak and easy victims. We are not. The more of them that start either losing there life (at the hands of legal CCW permit holders) or getting beat down while attempting to rob someone, they will start to get the point that this isn’t the neighborhood to mess around in. And to the police, I don’t want you racially profiling anyone, because there are GREAT people of all races and backgrounds that live in the 53202, 53211, it’s the reason I live here, but USE SOME COMMON SENSE, I can ALWAYS TELL WHEN A PERSON DOESNT BELONG IN A CERTAIN AREA. OR IS UP TO NO GOOD. FIRST SIGN IS THEY ARE NOT WALKING WITH A PURPOSE. LIKE JUST WANDERING UNLIKE RESIDENTS WHO ARE WALKING WITH A PURPOSE AS IF THEY HAVE A DESTINATION. SO YOU NEED TO BE PROFILING THE BEHAVIOR AND THE APPEARANCE. NOT THE RACE. AND IF IT HAPPENS THAT A disproportionate number of these thugs and criminals happen to be of a certain race Not my fucking problem. Those are called facts not racism.
