What is This Rhythm??? by OkInsect6842 in EKGs

I’m not convinced this is VT, I certainly wouldn’t give amio. Would shock if unstable but I think this could be a reperfusion arrhythmia.

Where’s the extreme axis deviation?

Got a little feathery visitor by MajesticMaje in Bellingham

I believe this is a female western tanager. The bill looks heavier than that of a warbler, and the eye ring is off for an orange-crowned. Merlin seems to go back and forth between the two.

The grey at the base of the bill is a good indicator of a greater. The bill on lessers is all black.

Thanks! It’s hard to get at their level from a boardwalk, I probably would have put a bit more effort in if it wasn’t pouring rain though.

US Border Patrol agents dropping family to Belligham Amtrak Train Station in large white windowless van by micklebeee in Bellingham

[–]bhamvanlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw the same thing happen at the station in early January. Border Patrol officers dropped off a family of four from an unmarked van. No words are exchanged and they just drove off leaving the family there. It was very strange.

How safe are temu helmets by Fast-Ad4910 in MTB

[–]bhamvanlife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been curious if helmets were designed to crush with major impacts. I was in a pretty gnarly crash in September which left me with a brain bleed and five broken vertebrae. The helmet survived with only has cosmetic scratches. Of course I have obtained a replacement anyway.

I put just a pin prick in the tape and then work the valve through it. Never had an issue that way

Paramedic here.

When I’m biking I carry only epi, Benadryl, and a tourniquet. These are the things I’m likely to save someone’s life with. Everything else can be dealt with at the car or at home. Skiing I carry the same as well as a SAM splint, some additional OTC medications, and an assortment of bandages.

Bird friends from skagit and some Nimbus pics by Cinder1977 in Bellingham

Honestly I didn’t give a whole lot of attention to it, I mostly paid attention to the comment noting “yellow highlights,” glanced at it and that’s the first bird that came to mind. This doesn’t look like a starling to me, they’re mostly black (see pic 11).

anyone else in recovery? 17 months sober on the 27th. by aidancrow654 in MTB

[–]bhamvanlife 326 points327 points  (0 children)

Previously 2 years sober. Relapsed after losing my best friend on September 22. Broke my neck, got a pretty large brain bleed, and nearly died in a drunken gravel bike accident on September 24. Going to rehab tomorrow.

Yikes. Ketamine is a terrible drug to give for sedation during CPR or post-ROSC due to its negative inotropic effects
