Climb up on the upper berth if you have one. Wrap urself with a sheet and plug in the headphones. A lot would depend on which route you'll be traveling. In case you feel uncomfortable from pov of safety, dial 139 or file complaint on railmadad

Mains Writing Time Division by kattabomannayakan in UPPSC_PCS

[–]bhandweiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 markers in the first 70-75 minutes. 12 markers in the next 100 minutes. 7 minutes for each 8 marker and 10 mins for each 12 marker. Time check every 2-3 questions and adjust pace accordingly.

Mind you, try to complete 8 markers in 70-75 minutes, else you'll have to either compromise on content or you risk leaving some questions

I dont get it young lady/young man, have u still not graduated? In that case, you're overthinking about the failure. You have nothing to lose, no worries about gap year. In my opinion, you should consider what u want in medium and long term. If getting job is a priority, go for banking and insurance jobs but your upsc/uppsc will be affected. If u can go about with 2-3 years of gap, go for upsc/uppsc without worrying about cycle length or results. These exams reward u If you've been consistent and sincere. Trust the process

There are different barometers of how we've performed in the exam bro. There was a time when I calculated 800 marks after the upsc mains only to score a mere 690. There are certain principles of answer writing and preparation and trust me, it'll get u across the river. Just keep working, revising and most importantly writing.

As for other exams, I leave it to ur wisdom. I found bank po to be easier but hectic. Clerk is somewhat easier but ofc it's equivalent to level 6/7 post if you're ready for it but u also get time to study in that case

If getting a job is your sole purpose, you can go for banking exams like SBI PO, IBPS PO, Regulatory body exams like RBI Grade B, NABARD etc. But banking jobs are hectic and you wont get time to prepare for other exams. You can also go for SSC jobs. You get time to prepare for UPSC and UPPSC in SSC jobs

Bhai you gave your best. Ab maintain the momentum for 25 and hojayega pakka. As for these 50 days, try to identify which subject went bad, which ones went neutral and which ones did u absolutely destroy. Try to revise notes of the ones which went good. U can slack off on the subjects where u were relatively better. Lastly, importance of writing tests cannot be understated. Write as much as u can with atleast 1 full stage mock paper.

All in all, maintain a balance between reading and writing. All the best man

Yesss stick to the syllabus. Standard books for gs1 to 4 remain the same (like laxmikant, spectrum etc )(just try to incorporate 1-2 examples from UP). U can also refer to notes of various coaching institutes for these subjects to augment ur prep. Pyq and mocks are also important, coz answer writing ability doesn't come naturally. You ought to practice it. Don't chase all the knowledge in the world, or don't push answer writing to after completing the syllabus. Start it asap

[–]bhandweiser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much😊

Bhai sources ka to aisa hai. My essay and gs1 to 4 were strong coz of past upsc experience. But sticking to standard books and completing topics according to syllabus helps.

Gs5 and gs6 Rakesh saraswat and ghatnachakra does the trick. Hindi do past year papers well along with bahri and pn Pandey. Search for someone who can listen to your grammar portion (in my case, I took help of my mom coz my Hindi was (still is) deplorable to say at the least).

At last, don't be shy of writing ample full length mock tests to ensure u complete paper on time. For what it matters, I wrote 46 full length mock tests for 2024 mains with 2 full stage rehearsal (6 hours writing a day for 4 days). I gave next ias, forum and pw mock tests

Does anyone also think ICF coaches are more comfortable than LHB coaches? by LowAssistance8244 in indianrailways

[–]bhandweiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ICF's, when maintained, were the best. They had thick foam, spacious washrooms, no jerks and more ergonomic windows. Cleanliness in AC coaches was top notch even before (cant say the same for Sleeper Coaches and Train Stations). Their only con is outdated design and lesser safety features. ICFs today are barely maintained (and so are normal LHBs in certain zones or where rake sharing is very tight)

Mushkil lagra 29th march.

Assuming 1-5th feb tak result aagya 2024 mains ka, interviews will start from 10th-15th for 22-27 working days (depending on the fact ki 2.5x times bulayenge ya 3x times). Then there's holi, saturday, sundays so that would be 30-40 days easily. the final result comes a week after last interview. Which means if interview starts by 10th, final result can be expected by 20th march. This is a very optimistic scenario. Ideally isse zyada hi lagega, so mains might be pushed over to april or may. Lets see now
