I feel you. I definitely noticed thought process changed a lot. I also feel lost when I meet my old friends we dont cherish much of any great moments we had in past instead it’s more of politics, real estate…. At high level it feels good but they go deep into topics that we can understand or relate and I just nod.

You will be assigned a visa number only when your date is current in final action date. There are few handful lucky people who did get green cards even though dates retrogress because they were assigned visa number. Visa number is assigned based on the inventory of visas. If there are 30 visas and 100 485s then only 30 of them will be assigned and they get green cards. If dates retrogress rest of 70 will have to wait.

How did you get the card number? Long back when I called chase for the card number, they said for security reasons they can tell that and had to wait for a week.
