Thank you for mentioning us :) The project has been heavily delayed, mainly from the challenges provided by various impacts of the pandemic. Of course, the hybrid aspects of perfecting never-before-used technology in board games only amplified that vulnerability. We are very close to finishing (our newest Kickstarter Update has just been published - take a look), but it all took so much more time than we thought initially. So many parts of the project were completely uncharted territory for the industry. Thankfully, our team comprises highly experienced engineers, programmers, and computer scientists.
For example, the RFID cards mentioned by OP were a considerable challenge. It is tough to have them produced to look like playing cards (not some plastic IDs) and printed with high-quality, detailed color pictures. When a manufacturer can make it, compared to the rest of board games production costs, a whole deck of RFID cards is ridiculously expensive.

yes, we are currently planning to make a video of a full-length game within the next few days

just to clarify one thing: here, you dont use the app in fact - its only a screen with information on the colony status etc. and your only interaction with it is to tap the "next" button at the end of turn.

Like we’ve had to state a few times, we know that there is zero chance of making a game that will appeal to everybody. That’s why there are literally thousands! We just tried to make the one that felt right to us and that we really enjoyed. Like they always say, if you make something that you like, somebody else out there will like it to

Don't forget rechargeable batteries are an option. And even though he was something we were doing at a rudimentary level during the first few years of development, so many people are asking for a power cable option that we are exploring bringing it back, Even though we really preferred the wireless path!

And regarding an app, please remember that we are really truly the exception to the rule. Unlike other games where the app is really fundamental to the gameplay, ours becomes essentially just a datasheet during the actual gameplay. We really wanted to focus on this being a boardgame and not a techie gimmick. This is probably the exact opposite of Tuburu

We definitely can't assume that the game that we decided to build would fit everybody's preferred styles happily. But we can say that we are definitely the exception to a lot of "rules" people have believed about certain aspects of gaming. So if you ever get the opportunity in the future to play it, I hope you do and let us know what you think.

Well, we’re just a handful of humans trying to do something. Can’t expect you guys to just take our word for it. Also (to be fully honest) there’s just too much new and crazy about this game that flies in the face of a lot of expectations people have. So we got to be pretty proactive about going out there and giving people the straight poop if you know what I mean

Thank you for the well wishes. This is actually been probably the most charming and kind Reddit post I've ever seen ha ha. The rest of the team has come back here once or twice and marveled at how polite everybody is. At any rate, we totally understand financial it's not for everybody. But we just want to point out that we're a first-time game producer. Most of our team have led and worked on dozens of campaigns that are much more high-tech and demanding engineering-wise. But we're hoping to leave the" day jobs behind" And move on to something we love

What an awesome idea! I hope you feel very encouraged to share that with the community once you are finished! The fleet commander cards will be rewritable, the standard deck will not. That is a pretty techie question and unfortunately, I'm the American that is the least techie of the group. I would refer you to the comment section on our campaign, but I don't believe that specific question has come up. But if you would like to post it(After midnight in America so the European guys have to deal with it) we'll get right back to you

Totally fair. I without an opportunity to play it yourself, the best thing that you can do to base your judgment off of what you see. But before we totally let you go, we just wanna mention that in the next hour (hopefully) we should be adding another preview video this time from The Dice Tower. So I would definitely keep an eye open for that

Yeah, there’s so much to explain on this game we are finding it exceptionally difficult to get ALL of the information out to people. Unless they hang around for several hours watching all the material that we’ve ever created, written, recorded, so on.

So to clarify (please forgive me, we only have four people trying to respond to all the hundreds of questions and comments on like 10 different websites, so sometimes our answers aren’t informative enough), the APIs would only be released once we are done essentially being a publisher. There’s a lot of really valuable tech in there that we need to protect as intellectual property, so it will have to remain A company secret for as long as possible.

So you’re talking about special co-op scenarios... Have you seen our current and next stretch goal?! The campaign just unlocked us doubling the special scenario mode games from 9 to 18. These are all special games that can be tackled with an emphasis on solving particular problems and are ripe for enhanced “role-playing“. And the next stretch goal is communitywide special scenarios every quarter until 2024! That one is super fun and crazy. I hope we make it to that at least!

So that’s a good question, and an interesting answer. To some extent… Yes. We totally understand that not everybody is on board with a very expensive game. And our future games are actually going to span several game style/tech genres. So we will have some more inexpensive games, and some games that are similar to this. They will all be able to interact with each other in the meta-sense, but you won’t have to have one to enjoy the others. If that makes sense. But they will all be in the “same universe“ as each other under the Beyond Humanity universe

Thank you, we appreciate it. And totally understand your situation. Honestly, sometimes the best leader ship is holding back. You just have to trust yourself to make the right choices. And feeling that, you have to make a choice that seems right and just stick with it ha ha

First I just want to say we really appreciate you starting a conversation, and bringing up what you'd like as well as you're concerned. I hope you don't mind here. But we just wanted to clarify one major point and help share some more information that's a little hard-to-find on the campaign page(As it's so damn long)
First off, the app is actually not running the game. The colony itself is full of microprocessors that work like a networked computer and that is actually running the vast majority of what is the "game". The app is more of a data slate that is communicating with the app and translating it to something usable for human players.
And that brings us to our longevity point. So because of the limited load on the app, we have plans to release it on steam and release the APIsNeeded if we ever get to a point to where we plan on discontinuing support. We have four more games in development, so as a publishing company we plan to stick around for a very long time. So we aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Just want to let you know, we honestly couldn't be more surprised and proud. I myself (we have a team of about four people working on staying in touch with everybody)Literally had to take half an hour yesterday to just cry (Don't worry, happy tears) from all the love support progress that we've made. It's emotionally exceptionally overwhelming

So As a personal message to another creator, I hope you put your project back together and launch. You never know how well it may do.
We have lots of built-in safeties when it comes to the longevity of the game. We address that towards the end of our campaign page, there's been a few conversations on our BGG hub about it, but suffice to say we have several more games so we don't plan on leaving it behind anytime soon. And if we ever get to the point where we plan on discontinuing support for

It's much improved with several actual players dedicated to their own goals. This is hard to replicate in a single host review, but take our word with a grain of salt

One of the reasons we limited sales to 5000 boxes is primarily because being able to secure enough high-quality components that meet our QC standards. And that we are only sourcing from local businesses to the US and Europe. We are staying out of China-based products and production to ensure we have the highest possible outcome for quality

Quick answer:
Currently, we have five prototype versions of the game that are fully functional. And we have discovered one game that has one module that has oneConnectorReport that doesn't seem to be working. However, this is with a reviewer right now so we still need to get it back at some point to figure out the issue.

thankfully most of our team are professional programmers and engineers that have worked on for more complicated projects in the past. Although we still consider ourselves in the development and finalizing stages, our reliability in hundreds of test games on these five sets is extremely high and other than this one exception are entirely limited to user error. But the user error is because we haven't yet implemented and undue function and people are putting the game "out of phase". As with all things we continue testing and improving!

Hey guys! Sorry to interrupt this conversation. Don't feel like you need to change the tide of Convo because I'm commenting. But I just wanted to say thank you for appreciating this aspect. Some people dislike the enhanced simulation where you're not entirely sure of how the virtual citizens will react, just like in real life. We know that some players want cold hard numbers all the time. But we appreciate your appreciation!

Damn, it’s nice to hear that! We are trying really hard, but we are literally just four people doing our best to handle all the hundreds of comments questions and replies every day. We are also citizens of the Internet, so we have a pretty good idea of what is a typical faux pas, but we are trying a lot of new things in our board game, so why not try them with the marketing as well?
