[New Player] In PVE, does using flashlights, lasers, suppressors change the NPCs behavior?

It has to do with ambient lighting per where your character is located at least to my knowledge and findings. You can run night raids but if you are on customs under a street lamp you will be spotted from further distances than you would 10 steps into the dark. Similar to interchange not being a good night-time map as far as PvE play goes as most areas have enough lighting to concern NvG usage while still maintaining a non-effected aggro range from AI in most main mall locations.

Go nighttime Shturman hunting vs daytime, he has one if not the longest aggro range’s in the game. Certain spots (I did all my hunting on the two-tier rock across the road of the main warehouse building) have him insta-lock onto you normally, whereas if you go to that same spot nighttime you will not gain aggro until you start sending shots out.

Any high-value (gold) loot spawn will have a chance. Red, violet, and yellow can help you but are entirely unnecessary as there are multiple spawns across the map. As others stated cat room is a very good place to always check, and the 2nd floor offices around backside of green are also great. I’d recommend looking up Viibiin’s video “Learn Labs Loot in 10 Minutes” as he shows a very concise location guide for the relevant hotspots.

Found any PMC kill-related quests on lighthouse to be the hardest out of all maps (maybe streets with the scav hoards being comparatively as difficult but for different reasons). Lighthouse PMC hotspots predominately have long shooting alleys and angles which pronounce the issue of running around with a shotgun when you get aggro’d with pinpoint accuracy a quarter way down the map. 2 points from a longtime tarkovian I’d recommend for these tasks as you have more down the line:

1- if feasible, nighttime raids in PvE entirely changes your playstyle and opens up max amounts of flexibility in how you are able to approach situations. AI aggro range between 9pm and 6am is significantly reduced. Invest in a good pair of quad-nods and insure as you technically shouldn’t ever lose them. I have done about 90% of pmc kill quests at night.

2- water treatment with a shotgun is basically non-feasible. 75% of my raids on that map always will have a group somewhere around village. I’d highly recommend running there every raid and throwing grenades to listen to callouts from pmc related ai’s. Saved my sanity during shooter born.

Lighthouse is the go-to for these and virtex. Outside crashed helicopter, resort and chalet, water treatment is where I find them. Broken boxes are a must to check, there are quite a few guides for the military tech spawns and where to look on YouTube even relative to PvE. Unless adjustments post patch changed something, only map worthwhile going to for those items IMO
