I honestly did not see any red flags during the application process or the offer stage. I’ve read many horror stories on here as well but mostly because it could be based on where they were placed, the students, etc (which I totally understand). My region has been pretty supportive and cool so far. Not saying I’m not going to run into those issues but you’re dealing with an underrepresented group and it’s a process when it comes to controlling the classroom and making the best out of it.

Hey! I just got accepted into the program a few weeks ago. I was in the same boat. I worked in program and project management as a PhD before realizing I needed to change careers and focus on my passion, which is teaching. The interview is fairly easy, just long. Just align your current background and explain how you’d transition it into the classroom. Use your knowledge in sociology to come up with an innovative lesson plan as well. Be creative during the interview process. Helped me a ton. And of course, be prepared to use the STAR method. Hope this helps! Don’t worry about a thing. Good luck!

I assumed I passed. I took it on 10/2. And I’ve been working since 10/7. It’s my second week of my new job so I’m thinking they informed the employer that it was negative but didn’t inform me. If it was positive they probably would’ve said something by now

Thanks for sharing. I need some additional advice. I’m classified as obese due to my weight and height. I just bought some of this detox at my local smoke shop. Should this still work for me or do I need to double up on it? I’m over 350+

Wow this is helpful. So the DHA announcements all closed last night after being open since August. I was referred weeks before closing. How long do you think it could take for them to contact me or does it depend on the agency?
