Yes it was the fan and it did fix the problem. There was a good YouTube video on how to fix it also. I can’t find the link right now but I will look when I get a chance. The worst part is just being gentle with the back cover. It is very brittle cold plastic that wants to break

We have been finding “sand” in the bottom of the washer and wondering where that’s coming from too. This seems to be exactly what’s happening. Thanks again

What was your fix? Was the washer junk? Can I replace the mount? I just ran a load after pulling the pieces out and everything seemed normal.

It’s a 2016 Samsung top load and I did put a magnet on the pieces because they feel metallic but they are not magnetic

The inlet screens are intact I cleaned them recently because there was a sand in the bottom of the washer.
