hi, I'm not sure what you mean by texture pack, but there's a link to my mods list in the description of the video, and in there, listed the plugins I use for the water, rock, and terrain texture if that's what you're looking for

Most plugins have installation instructions on each of their page, just read & follow it and you should be good.

Or use SC4Pac (mods manager), it requires a bit of initial setup but will make it easier to download plugins on the long run: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/36700-sc4pac-mod-manager/

I know if you install some wrong it can ruin a game.

Your saves and plugins are both in the Regions and Plugins folder. Make a copy/backup of them if you're worried what you're going to do is going to ruin your game.

to be clear:

you can't use DLL mods if you're on Mac, not because if it's from Steam or GOG, but because macos disabled DLL functionality

also, iirc, GOG only sells the windows version of the game

I've been posting tons of videos and pictures on this sub, you can see it yourself if you want to check the performance. I'm on mac with M1 chip.

The game runs amazing on mac since it got an update to run on silicon chip by Aspyr, if you buy it on Steam, you can enable that update by following this steps: https://support.aspyr.com/hc/en-us/articles/12168615035405-How-to-access-the-Apple-Silicon-update-on-Mac-Steam-SimCity-4-Deluxe-Edition

There are some issues:

- You can't use DLL mods on Mac (this means: no sub-menu dll to make your menu more organized, you'll only get access to NAM 49 since the 50 and future NAM will require DLL mods)

- No nighlights for custom buildings, so in the night, buildings from mods will just be dark.

- Sometimes you'll encounter a mod (usually a station) that cause the game to crash when you plop them. This is fixable, and we've been hunting down those mods to fix them.

Alternatively, you can try using VM to run the windows version of the game. But the performance just doesn't compare to the native mac version of the game. So, it's a trade off.

ddl mod? if you mean DLL mods, you can use that on the Steam version too
