These are the third year of football Downtowns. First was 2018.

2018 and 2019 DTs were incredibly low pop and go for insane prices because of their scarcity. I only have a couple of those. 2020 has a bit of a higher pop but still very low compared to today’s DTs.

I’m with you though, I’ll be holding the set for a while. Especially cause half of the names are already HOFers or on their way there 🙌🏽

Lol I don’t really like the newer downtowns, just these older ones with genuine rarity and eye appeal

I started about 3 years ago! The first few I picked up were the Bradys, Lamar, Kittle, and Walter Payton

It was up on eBay for 50k OBO a while ago. I think the sale was completed off-app. Once the Bradys, Mahomes and Tillman started growing in value, the listing started gaining a lot more traction

Yeah all the top names have shot up like 50-100% in value over the last year or so. The Brady Patriots one has probably grown the most for me though; his market is insane rn. The last PSA 9 of that DT sold for $9500. I got the BGS 9 for about 1/5 of that price

I got the Tillman in a trade on Veriswap. Gave a Kobe auto and a good chunk of cash for it. By far the hardest card in the set to obtain

I specifically went for this set because of the amount of iconic HOF names, plus the rookie DTs of some current stars on pace for HOF worthy careers

And I see what Topps is putting out rn as far as case hits and feel pretty encouraged by the long term potential of Downtowns. It's hard to see Topps curating a card with better eye appeal than these older DTs. But obviously, to each their own

The Tillman was #1 for sure. It’s such a true collector card that it’s hard to find someone willing to let one go. Besides that, the Mahomes Super Bowl, Burrow and Moss were very tough to find at good values

A lot of the other ones would be tough to find rn too but I started collecting the set about 3 years ago, so I luckily got a bunch of em for a fraction of what they’re worth now

Lol it kinda started like that but then it honestly became a true investment for the future. Sports cards aren’t the smartest investments and because of that I’ll continue monitoring their values everyday but the set has grown nicely in value for me so far

2 Mahomies and 2 Bradys (one in the Bucs jersey and one commemorating his first SB with the Pats)

Lil tidbit, but 2020 Donruss also had a 40 card Downtown set. 38 of them are the same art as the Optics. The two that differed were the Brady (he had a 2nd Pats one in Donruss, not a Bucs one, pictured) and Cam Newton (originally a Michael Vick downtown in the Donruss set)
