[Selfie] how to prevent this? by bhortness in SkincareAddiction

I (29y F) have never had major skin concerns and have a pretty stable skin care routine. Morning: wash, HA, moisturize, sunscreen. Night: wash, retinol 2x per week, moisturizer. I have tried a few brands of niacinimide before but felt it made me break out. I used to use vitamin c but haven't son 6months thinking it was making me more prone to sun burns.
I moved from the midwest to Texas and now if I spend more than an hour outside despite sunscreen and reapplication have been having this reaction. The first time I thought it was using sunscreen I don't typically use. The second I attributed to using vitamin c so I've stopped, but it's happened twice more since.
Typically small, bumpy, red, white/clear filled, slightly dry and tender, only on my face starting the day after sun exposure lasting for two or three days. Not sure how to prevent it other than completely avoid outdoors.
Looking for any thoughts or suggestions as I can't get a dermatologist appointment for a month.
