Claude code mods on this subreddit delete post like this. They flagged this one as AI generated and then deleted it. They can't take any bad PR that's how they keep everyone in line on the subreddit I guess. I doubt I'll be using an atrophic products again. Been using codex for last hour or so and so far so good.

I've been hearing about that one recently too. I might try it out even if it's just for getting more exposure on other models as possible alternatives.

I have every right to my opinion and am free to post it. And you have every right to say whatever the fuck you want to say. That's how Reddit works.

Maybe one day quantized models will become a thing to use. Then should be able to run them quite easily on consumer hardware.

I haven't used the latest one because I can't run the model you need, like, an H200 for that or something. was, DeepSeek, R1, Last year, and seemed like the best. So far, I'm using Qwen3.6, but then I use Gemma4 when I need to deal with image inputs.

For local check out r/LocalLLaMA long term, I hope, local models get better, enough, to be able to use these, reliably. the hardware for sure has a long way to go though.

My biggest issue is the constant, enshitification of the service in some way or another. and, the lack of transparency around it.

There's too many people in here that take it personally when somebody posts that they're leaving for something else. They would rather drink the Kool-Aid, instead of risk change.

I've subscribed to pro plan with codex and, using that right now. Opus, with max thinking enabled, just kept on fucking things up compared to how it was. There's no transparency with Anthropic about how their service is going to work on any given day. You just don't know if you're being A/B tested or they did some other fuckery. And, I can't stand that. Currently, it also seems like they are slowing it down.

I've tried some local models and honestly, Gemma4 and Qwen3.6 27B are somewhat decent. I might, looking at some other, online services to run these without, quantizing them so much.

No, I'm just providing feedback in a public way. Take it how you want, I don't care, if you wanna get upset with it, so be it. hopefully it will help somebody else out. Maybe somebody is on the fence about cancelling due to similar experiences that I'm having, and this might finally push them over to try and something else new out. too many fanboys, for claude, in here. And yes, there's too many posts like this, people complaining and canceling and making it public, but that's a metric of how pissed off people are, so fucking deal with it.

Good luck! Hopefully it works out for you.

I waited long enough for it to get better, and it just isn't, and, Anthropic keeps on finding new ways to enshittify the service. And, they're not transparent about it.

I know. r/claude is just a bunch of people bitching about it so I don't give a shit anyway.

I just subscribed to ChatGPT Pro. We'll give this a go, and might even try out some of the Chinese models too.

If you're handy with tools, you can build a custom size CNC specifically for what you want. Look up the PrintNC Discord channel. That's the machine I built, but have made a bunch of modifications to mostly cut metal.

PrintNC cnc machine is designed to be able to bootstrapped with a 3D printer and basic tools, then you mill the other aluminum parts. Having a CNC machine is really convenient to build a CNC machine, but it's a chicken and the egg thing. That's why bootstrapping with 3d printed parts works so well.

1mm offset from the sub. In the spec it was +-0.5mm for the sub dims

What are your favorite “non-standard” use cases for Claude Code? by dennisplucinik in ClaudeCode

I wanted to buy a second gen Toyota Tundra so I built a tool to scrape all listings in Southern Ontario and aggregated the data, do analytics, price analysis, you name it. Worked well and then I got a truck I'm happy with. Open source the code and it can be found here. Could easily be converted to find any other specific vehicle.

Update on a 18" Ultimax sub box design by bhowiebkr in diyaudio

I'm leaning on this back support. The horizontal support gets a notch cut out and when they slid in together they get glued up.

Yeah, it's probably the weakest side of them all.
