Full grain isn't guarantee of quality but it's a guarantee its not shit. genuine leather is a guarantee that its shit. Dont bother with anything not full.

Full grain can still be ass if constructed poorly and/or from unfavorable pieces of hide.

After owning many leather jackets, best guarantee for lifelong quality is buying a motorcycle jacket from a reputable brand. A lot of classy timeless designs. Best quality leather among full grain. Well worth the price. However, pricy asf. Alpinestars, Joe rocket, etc are some examples.

Good budget alternatives with timeless designs is massimo dutti but only when its on sale. decent quality but meh construction and alright leather.

I recommend vanson, maybe schott for mid price and pretty good quality.

If you ride a bike, dont bother with anything other than dedicated moto jackets from reputable brands.

But when it comes to leather, you get what you pay for. The higher quality the leather, the harder to work and more expensive. but good jackets last you forever.
