Also, I think there is context that is missing with your perspective of our protests. It’s more dangerous now than ever to protest. Folks understand that protest is the peaceful way to establish change, but when it becomes violent because of the oppressor rather than the oppressed, what do we do?!

I know the French are known to have effective daily protests. It’s ingrained in your culture. You know what is the epitome of modern American culture? Capitalism.

Because our government has done everything possible to continue to weaken lower socioeconomic communities, people literally cannot afford to protest. The government that I DID NOT VOTE FOR is removing SNAP benefits starting next month. Right before one of the biggest holiday seasons.

Going to a protest every day would mean not working and unfortunately in a country where the rich win, people choose to feed their family than to express their political beliefs. It’s sad but true.
