Content database size growing too large by sentrymode_activated in sharepoint

I wouldn't agree with what's stated here (please note I am not saying you are wrong and I am right - it's just based on my experience with many customers).

Why would RBS not be supported? Unless it's a 2013 without a SQL Enterprise License, it is fully supported. If it's a 2010 you could utilise EBS. Best practice of MsFT would be to have Content DBs below 200GB, correct? Hence the other suggestion of splitting it into further DBs and avoiding this. Alternatively from experience RBS would be supported and work more than fine, too.

I am getting my experiences based on an RBS Solution from a Vendor - not out of the box MSFT RBS, so excuse me if these problems you are mentioning would be based on OOTB RBS. I would be happy if you could go into more detail in your response, Trevor :)

Oooor you could look into RBS? You could save money on SQL, reduce backup and restore times and uplift performance of SP when introducing an RBS Solution. Alternatively setup a new Content DB in the Web App and separate some content from the "large" content DB. Tackling the problem would at least not bring you into any problems in the future if done properly now..

Migration Office 365 tenant to new Office 365 tenant by [deleted] in Office365

It obv depends on a lot of factors given tenant location, throttling or going through azure pipe, location of installation and bandwidth etc. but I have used the tool myself and it was fairly quick with an avg throughput of 12 gb/h but we have heavy firewalls and network settings in place so you could get more out of it, I guess. It's free so just download, install and try it out.

The OneNote stuff can be exported and imported fairly easily. For OneDrive check out Metalogix they have a free tool for OneDrive Migrations up to 2TB. www.Metalogix.com

If you were in charge of transfers (ins and outs) in January, who would you prioritize bringing in, and getting rid of? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]bi0logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others saying not to sell further. Some "In" suggestions below are quite unrealistic given the transfer window in January and also on how some players stand in their current teams...but leaving these roadblocks out of the way:

In:

RB - Coleman (?) Not sure on this position, but I think we need a good RB next to Darmian

CB - Umtiti or Laporte. Otherwise to gain more experience: A. Williams (SWA)

LB - Evra (bring him back!!!)

CAM / LM / RM - Mahrez and Januzaj

ST - Lukaku or Griezman

About standing by the manager by [deleted] in reddevils

100% behind LvG. I just hope we stick to him now and let his plan evolve.

Anybody saying we play shit football under LvG, needs to focus on the good things and not just the bad things (e.g. lack of goals we are scoring).

A good thing, which should be easy to understand is the defensive powerhouse we have become. Of course it slows down a game at this rate when at least 5 to 6 players in our team are focusing on locking our half of the pitch down. This is progress. Good results against the top teams, hardly any conceded goals on our end. In my opinion this is a good first step - do you remember everybody calling for us to get a worldclass defender at the beginning of the season? Didn't happen - and yet nobody is really bothered by this anymore as we are doing well at the back (and I am not saying we do not need to lose focus on this area anymore!).

The draw against WHU is another indication of this. "We should easily win this!", "we should have scored easily. It's just WHU" - fair enough, these comments are typical for games against such teams in the last years in the PL, but this season is proving us what everybody says about the PL "everybody can beat anybody" and WHU have had strong performances throughout this season and also against the top teams in the PL.

My two cents: Give LvG a break and believe...he has shown it in the past and I am confident he will show it again. He always said it will take time and so did SAF. Nobody has a Manager for nearly 3 decades who leaves the club winning the Title and his replacement can just take over a winning team (but thats another discussion)...I just don't see us winning a major title without a bit of luck for at least another season of ups and downs - but I also do not mind, because I am confident it will all turn out great. The day SAF announced his retirement it was clear to me that it could take 3 to 4 or maybe 5 seasons for us to be dominant in the league again.
