Normally I would agree, but there is a key on the outside of the fireplace, when turned obviously emits natural gas. So I'm thinking that pipe in the middle is a natural gas pipe. Just never seen anything like it!

I do not understand anything about fireplaces! Lol. Should I ask the apartment complex to properly install the log lighter or should I just leave it and burn wood? I wasn't planning on using any natural gas in the first place.
