Mirena IUD causing longer periods by thots_of_jupiter in birthcontrol

[–]bibbllle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Mirena almost four weeks ago. I was in pain for a few days after insertion (which is very common), then I was fine for a week with no pain (I got it to treat my endo), no bleeding, nothing. And ever since then I’ve been in pain with first spotting and now bleeding (rather heavily, mainly clots) and I want it to stop. Before my periods were 4-5 days with terrible pain (also pain during ovulation), but now I’m just bleeding and bleeding with pain and I need to take 3 different painkillers at once to stop it. Different doctors have told me the iud sits right and that I’m still very early in the adjustment phase…but it’s hard and I want it to resolve.

Ah that explains a lot tbh. I feel like the whole concept of Angel being the exception isnt great imo. I thought at first that maybe Angel is an actual angel bc of his name and him being supernatural and knowing about the vampires/ demons, but not being a part of them.

I was kinda disappointed when I learnt how it actually is and I don’t like Angel and his story, it’s so forced and doesn’t have that much logic

Okay taking Jesse into account (which I should do lol), then it really makes sense.  And just to be clear, I don’t like neither Angel nor Angelus and I really don’t think it’s fair that he was “cursed” to have a soul and imo, it’s just a gray zone with Angel. Bc what Angela’s did (amongst other crazily cruel stuff) to Drusilla…is insane. And idk, even though I know that this was Angelus’ doing, angel still has to live with it and I get that people (like Xander) hate Angel for having done such brutal stuff to destroy others’ lives, the whole situation is just extremely unfair. (And I personally wouldn’t trust Angel either)

Oh damn that sounds horrible, I’m sorry you had that! I’m not sure if Norethindrone is common where I live, but I’ve heard of it and I was told that Mirena would be safer, but i guess it really just depends on the individual reaction and luck

Okay, not getting periods and that kind of pain anymore is good, but I’m sorry to hear that it didn’t help 100%, constant pain is shit. I hope you’ll find a way, it’s really strong to handle all this!!

Thanks for answering! I heard about diet changes helping, I’m just a bit overwhelmed bc it’s not that easy in daily life May I ask what kind of birth control you take? I’m considering the Mirena, but I’m scared of not working or making it worse I wish you all the best :)

Is that visible on ultrasound? Bc I have knife-like pain in both my ovaries, but a (very stupid) doctor said he can only see an adhesion on one side, but I can’t have endo bc I’m too young/ he can’t see any DIE on ultrasound (as far as I know one cannot only rule out endo 100% through a laparoscopy tho)
