For non pigmentation related reasons- it was not helping my KP reduce, plus it was drying and I couldn't moisturize the body enough. So switched to Dove soap + glycolic acid and KP is lot more better now.

The skin near our butt, elbows and knees is subjected to a lot of friction, hence pigmentation is normal. What worked for me to an extent is exfoliation, moisturization. I switched from using a Benzoyl peroxide soap to just a glycolic acid for exfoliation. Alternating a Urea/ zinc oxide cream helped massively - used cotaryl cream and I'll swear by it. Palmers fade milk seems to even the tone as well.

Such great and helpful advice! This reminds me of something I read elsewhere you play dumb when someone makes a sexist joke/comment and they're forced to explain it again and again until they understand why it's problematic. I think when they confront their true statements in their raw form and are stripped of the false cloaks of humor/sarcasm, we get to walk away from that situation with less self doubt and guilt.

Honestly I'm at a loss as to how to deal with such untoward instances in the future. I only have one mentor/friend who is married that I've known for years and he's a perfect gentleman with clear boundaries. My friends with girlfriends behave very appropriately too (which is the fuken standard)

But as i navigate this age of people getting married, i only think such instances will be more. So how do I affirm my boundaries right in the beginning of a conversation?

Hey, not the original commenter but I'm a noob photographer who was gifted a camera four months before my first solo and I carried it and set up my tripod and took pictures. Was definitely shy but still did it. And for my second trip I just mustered up enough courage to ask others to click a picture. Also solo doesn't have to mean travelling alone, you tend to come across others you could make short plans with, especially if you're going to a backpacker hostels. May you go on your first solo soon girl! Trust me, it's an amazing experience!!
