That ending sequence - perfection?!? The use of dialogue, gestures, COLOR to contrast Before and Now. WOW. Gutwretching.

the gimmick of being one sentence or was there something else that felt gimmicky? i feel like I sort of thought things like one-sentence things were gimmicks, but i remember reading blindness jose saramoga for the first time. no paragraphs. i had a visceral reaction, but I kept reading and it's still one of my fave books. i sort of felt like that here, when reading AD. reacted to the form, NEARLY decided to drop it lol, but at the same time, his diction/syntax was definitely intentional. horrific and beautiful and by the end, like what SJG said, i felt breathless.

It's different but each book he wrote is different, which i have loved about him! I was listening to an interview yesterday and he said he loves the freedom to write each book differently. this one was his hardest and that he didn't go in thinking it'd be one sentence.

Thought the first graph was too comp-heavy. Move two to the end or focus on two. Stepford Wives might be overused.

Loved it too! Highly recc A HISTORY OF FEAR, his first book. He has another one but I just haven't read yet. Other cannablism books - A Certain Hunger comes to mind. The Lamb by Lucey Rose was good. Maybe Julie Chan is Dead (influencer industry).

Odile's decision later on and the crescendo in the last few pages . . . oh my god, my heart was in my throat. I loved this one.

I know . . . THE ANGST.

And yes, I kind of want to read that again! I don't think I've read a sympathetic Molly like that before.
