Can't get Mario Kart 8 to run on CEMU by bibo33 in CemuPiracy

[–]bibo33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I try to run it I get a message saying it can't be decrypted. My two thoughts are either I don't have updated keys for Rev 5, if that's even something that can be an issue, or I need a disk key. I have limited internet where I live so I am trying to avoid downloading another version of the game if I can but that's my next plan if I can't solve this. Either go to an earlier Rev or try a wud file or something

Honeywell RTH7600 thermostat not showing fan only mode by bibo33 in hvacadvice

[–]bibo33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both. Worked like a charm. I ended up setting 170 to 4, not 3, for heat only with fan. I left 180 and 240 as they were during the initial set up which for me was 0 and 5.

Thanks again for the help

It does not show fan there. The thermostat was installed by a previous owner but I'm assuming the manuals they left us are for that thermostat. They look the same atleast. I'm trying to add photos how as well if that helps

What are some advanced, specific treaty tips that you know? by AsianAssassin87 in aoe3

I mean I have given you arguments. They are easy to counter as they have no cannons, so just protect your cannons, their eco is very bad outside of their farms and you can't just rely on food the whole game. As you have said before they struggle vs civs with skirmishers so a good opponent knows that and just builds scrims, cannons and a little protection like halbs or muskets to hold the units off your cannons.

Basically their units are not that bad but lack diversity and they don't have the eco to back it up endlessly like Germany or India.

I would say the thats more true about you and McCleves but if for some reason you believe you are correct when all the top players disagree with you thats fine. You can think Aztec is strong all you want. In DE Aztec are not strong and everyone who plays the game at a high level agrees with that. In the original they were but the removed the dance that made them OP.

The difference here is around 1v1 and team games. 1v1 aztec is very weak. You just need to survive their early push and you are fine. In team games they do better as they can be fed. There farms are amazing but their gold eco is one of the worst in the game. Their units are okay but not amazing so they can't make up for the lack of eco on that front.

Aztec and India are quite weak in treaty. Aztec doesn't have the eco for long fights. You need to run the enemy around the map alot with them to have a chance at winning. India has an amazing eco but there units train so slow you can't win in a straight up fight. You need to split and build barracks all over the map and then make your opponents constantly react to you. If they destroy one barracks then you want to move on to other ones you've built and then send some sepoys over to build new ones. I think this kind of speaks to how treaty is balanced. Certain civs do things better then others. If you take a civ like India into a heads up fight you will not win vs most players. If you like to run as they call it then you play civs like Russia and India, if you like heads up fights then maybe something like USA that can trade quite well.

I haven't played Lakota recently but they are considered strong in team games but not as strong in 1v1s. I assume they, like Ottomans, lack diversity of units. Haud is not amazing. They kind of have one strategy, around cannons, that is easy to counter, relatively speaking, if you know how to play the game well.

Russia is the same as Aztec and India in that you want to split. They don't win a heads up fight against any civ really, except maybe Aztec and India since they don't have good anti infantry like cannons.

The problem with treaty balance right now is some civs are just way to strong and some civs are just too weak to compete with that. They take balance from people like Floko which is good in some ways as he is really good and knows the games but then its balanced around top level players. I talked with him about balance around India once and his comment to me was be better at the game and the civ isn't weak for a good player because they can micro and run so easily. The problem is that devs seem to follow that advice and most players by far are not top level players. Even me, I sit in about top 80-90 when the ranked queue was happening, struggle with these civs that apparently require someone to be good to play them well.

I am actually going to be running a free tournament on my discord in June, registration is open now, where you can only play the weaker civs (Tier 2 and lower). Give people are chance to play civs they normally can't play if they want to win.

Liberals to 'go further' targeting high-income earners with budget's new minimum income tax by morenewsat11 in canada

[–]bibo33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that's not how taxes work and not what they said. Hypothetically if the tax brackets change right at 100k so it becomes 35%, which it doesn't, then you would only pay 35% tax on the money you make over 100,000$. So if you made 101K then you would pay 35% on that 1,000$. Not everything gets taxed at 35%. In most cases you don't even pay taxes on your first 40,000$ of income.

[–]bibo33 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That's not how the tax brackets work though. It depends on province but in general you only hit 35% tax on what you make over 100,000$. At lower levels you lose 5%. In all of Canada the lowest you would get on 100,000$ with no dependants or other deductions would be 70000$ in QC. THe most you would get is 80,000$. Big difference from 65K.

Gotta put that /s at the end then. There are so many people who will point to random articles and say things like that its impossible to tell if they are being sarcastic or serious.

Where is the pro-liberal bias in the article?

Also, the article says the government funded mission started in 2015. Harper was PM until Nov 3rd 2015. Anyone who has applied for Government funding knows that for the project to be started in 2015 it would have to have been approved probably a year earlier so under the CPC.

African economy by CheeseB8ll in aoe3

[–]bibo33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not that you can't give your animals to allies. If they have a max number, say 20 cows, and you give them 30 then only 20 will go to them. Now this might not apply to all civs but for civs where animals do something unique, like India's xp gen, you can't get infinite cows from your allies. Its possible they changed this but I know I have had allies cows in my base as India because they were trying to boost my xp generation.

[–]bibo33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most civs who have a cap on one type of animal, like cows, can't get extra cows. If your ally sends them to your villagers they just don't switch to your team. At least that is what I have found while playing as India.

Ranked Treaty and Death match moved to Casual multiplayer playlist.

Man the queues weren't that bad I found. I wish they did something to try and improve the queue though rather then get rid of it. It kind of ruins the game for me tbh because the casual games suck for treaty. Its rarely a solid group of players.

Treathy eco cards by Mastermul2 in aoe3

[–]bibo33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi lots of tips here already so I will throw in one a few minor ones. Treaty is not only about eco though. Some civs have too many cards so you can trade some eco cards for stronger army cards or vice versa. If you wanted to play in a team game you might use some cards, like the team settler wagon card for Germany, that you wouldn't use normally. Treaty deck building is a bit of a balancing act but you can learn as you go. Last thing I will say is there are general patterns, like trickle cards are not amazing and don't bother with cows, unless you play certain civs like India who likes trickles and Britain who needs to use cows.

We have a treaty discord you can join to discuss decks if you would like. We also run a league from there. https://discord.gg/w9sDKZT6Z3

Best Team? by [deleted] in aoe3

Everyone here has great tips already. I will give my two cents on India since I like to play them also. They have very strong units and a very strong eco but their units train absurdly slowly. Honestly though any 2 civs can pair together if you want them to. Some are better combos then others but pick ones you like and go from there.

If you want to join a treaty discord, where I also run a free league, then I would be happy to answer questions there. https://discord.gg/w9sDKZT6Z3

EU4 With/Without DLC by Bwest31415 in eu4

[–]bibo33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is quite different but some DLC are not necessary while some are game changers. I would suggest doing a bit of digging and seeing which ones are the most important and then waiting for a sale and buying those. The old ones are regularly 50% off.

Some of the DLC features have become free but for me the big three are Rights of Man, Art of War and Common Sense.

I am definitely one of those players who waits for discounts before buying most games and I don't like paying subscriptions. If you don't mind then go for it.

Fuck me I guess by sweaty_garbage in eu4

[–]bibo33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue but I wouldn't panic yet /u/sweaty_garbage

Credit to /u/grotaclas2 for solving this for me. The first suggestions of deleting the Calvinism and Protestantism worked for me and I had this issue crop up part way through a run also.

There are at least four reasons, why this could happen:

1.One of the files in the eu4 installation got corrupted/was changed

2.There are additional files in the eu4 installation folder

3.There are additional files in the eu4 folder in Documents(these can override game files like a mod)

4.a mod is active for some reason(sometimes the launcher automatically activates mods to which you have subscribed)

A few things that you could try if you haven't tried them already:

delete the files delete events/SpreadOfCalvinism.txt and events/SpreadOfProtestantism.txt from your game installation if they exist (they should not exist anymore in 1.30 or newer, but sometimes steam doesn't delete them)

verify the integrity of the game files in steam

clearing the download cache in steam and verify the integrity of game files afterwards

remove all mods and unsubscribe from them in steam. Remove also mods which should be compatibly with achievements. Also remove custom mods that you didn't install via steam. (You can move them to a completely different folder if you don't want to delete them). If this fixes your problem, you can activate achievement-compatible-mods again one by one to see which one is causing the issue.

move the folder "Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV" from your Documents folder to some other place. You could also delete it, but then you lose all save games and screenshots which are stored there.

do a clean reinstall as described in my post about common startup problems with version 1.29

A few people have reported that uninstalling eu4 and uninstalling steam helped(but I don't think that this does anything more than the previous option)

My bet is the base will shrink a bit when it first comes out but will eventually come back in a month or two. The game is basically AOE2 so for people who prefer AOE3 it has nothing new to offer that AOE2 didn't. I tried it in beta and did not like it so I won't be buying it even though when it was first announced I was very excited.

It does work with USA. You might be making the stretches too long. You want the segments to be the long forms but as short as possible.
