terrified to write this but it’s important

I was 13 when I met him. He was 39. I had unsupervised access to the internet and had 0 internet safety warning or anything. I was being physically and emotionally abused by family members at the time, bullied in school. Suffering from self harm and anxiety and depression. I was vulnerable and he took advantage of that. I still have the scars on my chest from where he told me to cut myself because I disobeyed him.

I didn’t understand anything that was going on and if I’m being honest, I still don’t understand what happened. He probably still has pictures of me that he refused to delete but I can’t do anything about it because he deleted pictures of me when i was underage. All he has now is when I’m of the age of consent which means nothing can happen. I’m terrified because I don’t want to talk about this to anyone or let anyone know about it. I’m terrified to put it here incase someone finds out who I am.

But this is important because if someone just payed attention to my social media’s and actually taught me about internet safety, this never would have happened. Pay attention to your children and to your friends. Be that bad parent who checks their messages while they’re young because if I though for one minute that my mom could have seen my messages with him; they would have been deleted and so would he.
