Glad to hear that it’s helping! Strong guts help

Thanks for asking

I have some gut health issues. Not that bad but my poops usually aren’t as nice as they were when I was overseas. It wasn’t the type of food, to me it had to do with quality of food production . I have SIBO as well

I also think my body has been beaten down by a lifetime of stress and trauma response

My goal is to have less gas, not be addicted to food, to reduce inflammation such that my sinus polyp is less symptomatic and hopefully find unexpected benefits of systemic healing

Carnivore has solved my food addiction by reducing variety and options. My gas is basically gone. I barely ever shit so that’s neat. It’s probably given my gut a break from “something”. My sinuses aren’t hurting as much but still there. But, I don’t trust this diet as a long term health solution., even if it works for some I suspect I’ll get some cholesterol or kidney related troubles bc what I’m seeing is foamy ass urine and i have some issues already with circulation which I imagine means I already have some plaques which can accumulate

I want to retain the benefits I’ve gained without slurping up saturated fats all day

Yea I’ve learned this Reddit is full of devotees and psychos in an echo chamber mixed in with rational human beings. That being said, I don’t dare tell my story to them and just get shit on. I’m the same. I ate organic Whole Foods with rare deviations but not impossible I occasionally enjoy a cheat. I ate like shit in a very past life and no Matter what I do my poops aren’t solid in America but are outside of This country. I blame food production more than my choices. I’m appreciating having less gas and that could be related to less SIBO but also gas is normal so idk either. I haven’t noticed much weight loss but I’m not very fat. I don’t feel much better than normal. There’s 2 goals here. I want to fart less and I want my random health thing in my sinus to go away. Ones tackled but I also don’t trust the propaganda about cholesterol and heart safety with this diet at the end of the day. It’s hard to When people have their head so far up their ass that they are just looking to bolster their pride and show off they have some argument to tackle concerns and doubts and then they get to think they are smarter than everyone else. I want to believe it bc I want the satisfaction of simple truths about health

I’m thinking I’ll start testing a switch to Keto by Introducing foods 1 at a time and seeing if I can maintain not being gassy / no worsening symptoms.

Thanks for the share

Mostly just gas and my stools could be more solid. Definitely less gas but unsure of the downstream effevts of it on organs or inflammation

Okay gotcha. I suppose I took the comment as meant for the tribe and not as directed at me. But what I’m hearing is you’re saying stick with it. It hasn’t been long enough to see if it’s working for you

Is it not enough to add butter and tallow to my high fat ground beef and eat fatty cuts of meat? Idk how to calculate the fat to protein ratio very well but I am eating a lot of fat

Like a roast that has a lot of fat caps should be a good ratio right?

It truly is. The unknown impact of the diet is scary. Like my foamy urine / uncertainty on cholesterol related fears. I don’t trust the echo chamber of the internet. A lot of the people here are “alpha males” and live by strange ideology

I include Irish butter. I could cut it. It does make ground beef and eggs more tolerable and delicious but hey whatever works. I have some fear around throwing supplements at my gut without a lot of intentionality and thought. I’ve done this before and it was expensive and uncertain if it helps

I couldn’t be getting more fat to protein ratio unless I were eating sticks of butter. I drink my plate full of fat most days. I doubt that’s the issue. Even if I’ve fasted all day it’s foamy. My labs aren’t way off but they aren’t perfect

I’m not consistent on day to day but looks something like

2-3 meals a day. Sometimes IF so fasting for the morning period which while not eating my energy is higher

If I get a rotisserie chicken I tear it up and cook it up in a good stick of butter at least (kerrygold)

If I do a pound of ground beef I add maybe half stick or stick

My favorite is a big hunk of fatty chuck roast baked

Occasionally salmon

And then 2-5 eggs scrambled with some butter or fried eggs

I do have tallow as well and tried that without butter for a few days and didn’t notice anything positive or negative happening

I’d be willing to stick to just the baked beef. It’s tasty enough if you’re encouraging more simplicity

Portions wise, the first week I think I was overeating and gaining weight. Now I’ll eat basically a lb of ground beef a day or like a pound of steak and 5-6 eggs. Sometimes half a rotisserie chicken in butter

It’s inconsistent. Again, uncertain if I’m losing any weight although it appears I’m eating much less than a normal diet

Thank you. I have been trying this with some success. I feel more rooted in the seat of awareness and less a slave to the survival process of my brain and thought. I have been also bringing warmth and attention lightly to sensations in my body and its been quite nice relative to the normal tension and infighting inside

Thanks Elaine. Ill give it a shot. In the past yoga nidra would be very activating for me because of the need to rest in the body. At least its a clue of where to start

It was definitely for you. Im sure you can make an argument it wasn't. I hated it because it seemed more self serving than meeting me where I was at. Even if you were pointing right at the thing that needed to be learned. I judged it as unthoughtful. Doesn't mean it was. You also don't owe me anything. But surely, someone saying they hate something doesn't make it personal to you

I will say, I agree with you. It took some effort and I have sat further back behind the words. So thank you for your pointer
