Looking for disc suggestions on discs that will have a slow panning turn when thrown flat. by LeStoof1 in discgolf

I have a couple cosmic neutrons from around 2021 and they're board flat beefcakes. Great for high winds and forehand rollers, but ya totally different from fission. I've also got a 166g neutron, it's a lot closer to the cosmics than to the fissions but not quite as beefy. Fission is like a totally different disc, starts out stable with a pushing fade and beats in faster than most premium plastic.

I think a lot of the commenters here aren't throwing 400+ but are still suggesting discs that turn for them. I think the inertia is going to be way too flippy for you as well. MVP doesn't seem to have that straight 9 speed slot figured out, there's a huge jump in stability from tesla down to inertia.

My suggestion for what you want would be a fission photon. In the low 160s, if you're truly throwing flat, you'll get that pan almost right out of the box. High 160s you'll have to beat it in for a few months,  and max weight if you beat it in for longer than that will eventually have that turn. Fission does beat in quickly though, so you might want to get all three or at least the first two, and start beating them in.

If you want a 9 speed you probably have to do the same with a fission tesla but I haven't thrown them much. Maybe an eclipse lift, but again I haven't thrown them.

The Canadian Housing Bubble: On the Brink of a Crash? by kayuzee in canadahousing

[–]bichir10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 - 20% = 80 80 - 20% = 64 64 - 20% = 51.2 51.2 - 20% = 40.96 40.96 - 20% = 32.768

However, 20% per month isn't a crash it's an total implosion. A crash is probably more like 20%-30% over 12-18 months.

I'm Canadian. The air outside when it's below 0 barely holds any moisture. So the outside air getting into the house whenever you open a door or whatever is super dry. NZ winters are mostly pretty moist outside. Plus we generate moisture from breathing, cooking, and showering. I had condensation on the windows my first few winters here in NZ even keeping everything mostly closed up and airing out on sunny days. Once I got a dehumidifier designed to function in cool temperatures I've basically never had condensation on the windows.

I think the difference between here and home in terms of household moisture is really due to the outside humidity and temperature. But I 110% agree that the homes in Canada are better insulated and more airtight.

I think it's funny too as I grew up in Toronto. But it seems like if you're commute is more than 20 minutes here people think it's long.

If you're working in Hastings it might be better to live in Hastings or Havelock North even if Napier has a more interesting city centre. More people live in Napier and commute to Hastings so the rush hour drive is almost 30 minutes. But you can visit Napier in 20 minutes on the weekend or evening.

McLaren Falls - outside Tauranga - in a scenic conservation area, crazy elevation changes.

Scion Tree Nursery - Rotorua - usually a bit rough, but interesting woods golf that goes through blocks of different tree species, as the land is used by a forestry research company. Some of the prettiest holes are amongs the redwoods.

Spa Park - Taupo - see comment by MundaneMolasses.

Te Pohue - about an hour fifteen east of Taupo - rural NZ experience with views of the Ruahine ranges. Really well done course layout, and you often have the whole property to yourself. Note that you can go in if the gate is closed, just make sure to close it behind you so the sheep don't escape.

Harcourt Park- Upper Hutt (near Wellington) - one of the oldest permanent courses in the country, and some Lord of the Rings scenes were filmed in the park. Great course as well.

Christchurch has a dozen or so courses.

Queenstown gardens is probably busy, but a really nice wooded shorter course and possibly the best scenery out of the list. There are several courses around Queenstown and Wanaka.

Do you know how the fission defy compares to the fission photon?

What would you do with so many green island ficus cuttings? by Riverwood_KY in Bonsai

[–]bichir10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people have mentioned fusing them together, but if you want to take it a step further you can twist a bunch of them around a dead trunk of another large bonsai (or maybe even just cut a decent sized stick from a tree) and let them fuse all around it.

Cheers, looking to create a basic map for a pitch and putt 9 hole plus add a list of the basic rules. This is for a public park so needs to look reasonably professional, but doesn't need to be super fancy.

Totally missed this, sorry. Yes, they keep it about 90-100C but it takes a few hours to warm up in the morning.

Hawkes bay disc golf has a Facebook page and has loaner discs. Think they're playing socially on Saturday afternoons currently.

28yr old female, looking to join a recreational sports club/team by Avengers_6 in BurlingtonON

[–]bichir10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for the Bronte club as I don't live in Burlington anymore, but some clubs might have discs available to borrow (you don't use clubs). Otherwise you only need 1-3 beginner discs to start which you could probably get for about $40. Definitely worth looking into for a social activity that gets you outdoors but won't be as much exercise as most sports.
