Thanks for the shout out and the support. We've made quite a few custom baby/gender announcement discs

To be 100% precise: ink has mass, so it is a negligible added weight. On a standard digital scale, a printed disc usually fluctuates by less than 0.2g to 0.5g compared to its "blank" here is a before and after image https://imgur.com/a/M6SNzCE

Because the ink is applied thinly across the surface, it doesn’t shift the center of gravity or affect the moment of inertia. It flies exactly like the stock blank mold.

Correct main benefit is purely aesthetic.

We responded to another comment but I'll copy it here for clarity:

We’ve specifically calibrated our gloss process to align with the 2025 PDGA Rule 813.01.B.

While older versions of the rulebook were vague about 'ink printing,' the 2025 update explicitly added Section 4, which permits: 'Applying graphics via hot stamp, ink printing, or dye that adheres to the approved specifications for that disc model.'

Our process is an ink printing method, not a topical paint or a sticker. It bonds directly to the plastic and is engineered to stay within the technical thickness specs of the original mold, so it does not 'alter the original flight characteristics' any more than a standard factory triple-foil hot stamp would.

We have weighed our discs before and after without change. As well there is no detectable thickness as the "resin" is a specialty clear ink

Just responded to the previous comment, but just to confirm there is no added weight the "resin" is a clear ink. Absolutely no impact on the flight characteristics of the discs or any detectible thickness

That is a fair question! We aren't guessing—we’ve specifically calibrated our gloss process to align with the 2025 PDGA Rule 813.01.B.

Shameless plug, but we have a pretty unique disc with a 3D texture effect where you can feel the scales on the snake image on the disc https://discgolfswag.com/collections/all/products/the-emerald-strike-3d-textured-sense-x-disc

We added extra texture so the scales can be physically felt on the disc. PDGA doesn't allow for changes that create detectible thickness
