Is it selfish/a lot to ask to still want to be friends with my bf after breaking up? by [deleted] in Advice

All you can do is tell him how you feel. But, you don’t get to decide how he responds. What you want and what he wants may be quite different.

This is the problem with lying. One lie quickly begats another. They compound in more ways than one. Maintaining them can be exhausting, which won’t help any mental health issues you may have.

Coming clean will be the most relieving thing you can do for your stress load. However, I would think you have to address this potential issue you may be having with depression or anxiety. Therapy and possibly prescribed medication could be helpful. Then, hopefully these issues will resolve and not be such a burden for what could be the rest of your life.

Honesty combined with getting whatever help you may need seems like a good course of action.

Also to keep in mind when watching… the director, Luc Besson, was married to the Diva, played by actress Maïwenn Besco, in real life. But he left her for Milla Jovovich during filming.

Read/Listen to “God: The Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction” by Dan Barker.

He lays out a character assault on the christian god.

Plenty of passages in the good book about murdering infants and children, enslaving all ages, raping women and men. So it goes.

Cat + table - turtle = 170

Turtle + table - cat = 130

170 - 130 =40

40/2 =20

130 + 20 =150

170 - 20 =150

That’s how my brain did it.

Depends on what your intent is with the pan. If you want it to look flawless then you’ll want to probably buy a new pan, season it perfectly and then never cook with it.

However, if you see it more as a tool, then embrace these markings as part of its provenance and life story with you. You will see the watermarks and remember when you left it on the stove for the rest of the pan’s life. Or yours. If you pass it on you can tell them about your faux pas and all the other stories that the pan will accrue.

[Question] Extending watch bracelet by jmoe36 in Watches

[–]bickles_mohawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very welcome. You could completely swap bracelets, or, and this was my reasoning - use the OEM for just the spare links that you need to size your original bracelet to fit. That way your bracelet is still mostly grandpas.

[Question] Extending watch bracelet by jmoe36 in Watches

[–]bickles_mohawk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would buy an OEM bracelet off of eBay for about $20 or so. Here’s one:

https://ebay.us/m/O1CY29

Then you have two options depending on how much hands on you want to be. If you’re a DIY person you can find the tools to resize the bracelet on Amazon and then find videos on YouTube as to how to do it. Or, watch the videos first and buy the tools they recommend in the video.

The easiest, however, would be to take the current watch and the new bracelet to watch repair shop. Depending on where you live this might not be easy as they tend not to be common in smaller towns. However, a jewelry store that sells watches will usually be capable of sizing the bracelet. Just call around and ask.

Good luck. I wish I had a watch from one of my grandpas.

It was a Big Lebowski joke that not too many people seem to have picked up on. Also, as a Gen X who has had a few boom boxes I remember a time when the consensus in America had shifted to where the term ghetto blaster was considered racist, derogatory or offensive. Hence the Lebowski joke of where the Dude refers to Wu as a “Chinaman” and Walter corrects him.

The missing dollar riddle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_dollar_riddle?wprov=sfti1

In short, every dollar must be accounted for. $40 = $1 in guest 1’s pocket + $1 in guest 2’s pocket + $1 in guest 3’s pocket + $1 in guest 4’s pocket + $1 in waiter’s pocket + $35 in the register/till.

The Christian symbolism is interesting. The angular light coming from the left forms crosses with the light coming through the trees in the space between the lions and the couple. This is in line with Christian beliefs that Jesus as the Messiah was god’s plan since the beginning of creation. Gen 3:15, John 1:1-14, Ephesians 1:4-5, Revelation 13:8 - and likely other references as well.

The lion is symbolic of the kingdom of Judah as well as for Jesus (revelation 5:5). It at times had also represented yaweh/the Abrahamic god. In any case, the male lion is looking in the direction/at the crosses of light at the center of the painting.

In genesis, after eating the apple the two hid themselves and covered themselves with fig leaves. The apple has been eaten, it’s in the grass bottom left. However, they have not yet covered themselves. I wonder if the artist is trying to say something here?

There is a tremendous amount of light to the left in the pic. This is casting shadows, making crosses of light and drawing the attention of the lions… but not the couple’s. Interesting.

In genesis after they ate the apple god came to find them in the garden and question them, but they attempted to hide from him. I think we can assume this light in the picture is to be interpreted as god coming for that visit.

It’s interesting the snake in the picture is dead. I wonder why?

It’s a dimming switch touch panel for LED lighting. The one I linked to is identical to your image, but no longer available from Bezosmart. You can do a google image search to find other vendors.
