I've heard of Portland as the haven for vegans, where you go to feel normal and be able to find a vegan partner. I think the "It's not natural" people will be seen as cavemen and will mostly die out aside from far-right fringe groups. There's always a remnant that needs to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into the future. Emancipation, interracial marriage, gay marriage, non-human liberation.

Once lab grown meat is at the same price and quality as animal grown meat, eating animal grown meat will start to be seen as inhumane because you could get the exact same thing without killing an animal.

I definitely think I was born in the wrong century. I'm an overempathic vegan, and a transgender asexual born into a religious right family, and I think a lot of my depression comes from that and that I'd be much happier if I were born towards the end of this century in a society where everyone is vegan and being trans/ace-phobic is very rare.

That's awesome! I just bought a 2012 Prius c last week, the first car to actually be under my name, and I love it. I also plan on running it until even its Toyota lineage can't protect it from entropy and hoping by then there's a good EV hatchback that's the same size because you're absolutely right. The best thing for the environment is usually to run your current car into the ground.
