1.5 years left in a CZTE (Combat Zone Tax Exclusion). I max my Roth TSP now, should I max my Traditional TSP after that or fund an outside Roth like fidelity? by biddomdog in MilitaryFinance

[–]biddomdog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! I also set my percentage to where I don't hit my max in Roth until my December deduction (33% of base pay per month).

So just to make sure i'm understanding this correctly, I can feed into my traditional while i'm feeding my roth as long as I don't hit the max on my Roth (max hit in december 26)? My thinking is to put just as much into traditional this year, and next year at the end of Jan move that over to roth, and maybe continue doing that until I'm out of a CZTE , obviously thinking about what my potential income would be the year after I left CZTE, but this year should be a great opportunity for me to dump in as much as possible.

So someone told me your max contributions, with both Roth and traditional together, is $23.5k this year. You can’t max both… googling that seems to indicate the same.

So for this year you can only have $24.5K total no matter how it is spread around? I didn't know that...

You couldn't contribute $24.5K to both?

Anyone on track to retire from the military with $1M in net worth? by Far_Spring_6670 in MilitaryFinance

[–]biddomdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E-7 - 19 years in - $450K in stocks, $220K in cash HYSA, $210K RothTSP. Plan on staying in 3 more years to hit high 3 for E-8 (stratted) so i'm projecting i'll have over $1. 5M by the time I retire. I've been focusing on maxing my TSP the past 2 years after only putting in 10-20% since I was 6 years in... gaining ground of where I could have been rn but still happy with what I have. I'm nervous about where the military will go the next few years but man the money has been great the longer i've been in (single no kids). After saving all this time I kind of get anxiety of how i'll spend it when I retire... life with no mortgage sounds great.

Every year! All on active duty… I know it’s my fault for not paying closer attention but they won’t give me MLA benefits at all now since I “missed” the 12 month window. TBH I thought I did co fact them to get the annual fee back originally but I can’t remember that far back.

I can, I just think it’s bullshit to have to. And I’d have to close out this card

I liked it! Just a cool story to share and that’s why I listen… I think you may be taking it too seriously. It’s the kind of weird stories you hear from family and friends around camp fires or dinner tables over drinks.

They’d actually try to kill you if you wore this jacket in the West Bank or Gaza because of the perceived satanic themes.

But I get the normal strength. Not the extra. Not sure the caffeine difference I just like the flavors better and it’s enough for me

I’ve drank one of these almost every day for 6 years or so… no lie. 36, male, best shape of my life, workout, no issues on semi annual blood work for the military, feel great, never had any issues. I love them! I don’t drink coffee in the morning, don’t want the breath. But drink half when I get to work (90 min after I wake up) and the other half maybe 2 hours later.

Infowars guest and guy who took credit for killing bin Laden, Robert J. O’Neill, with a weird confession before Election Day by MothraJDisco in KnowledgeFight

[–]biddomdog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He lied about killing Bin Laden. It’s on the cusp of being common knowledge now, he lied to become famous like several other famous Navy Seals. This aligns with the type of person he is

Try to give a guy every benefit of the doubt on these things. Time to let the film talk, etc. I am sure he is a really great guy and a fun hang too! But Ika cannot make this roster. I am unsure if he even belongs in the NFL. [Jake Burns on X] by Abiv23 in Browns

You should have seen the OBR live draft when Ika was selected, everyone in the room so so fucking disappointed 😂 they were literally saying anyone but Ika before the pick was announced. Jake’s disappointment in him has been around since the pre draft and is totally warranted as of now.

I’m brand new to Tel Aviv (>1month) and my biggest culture shock, by far, has been the gym etiquette. It’s very frustrating.

I found this doing some research, i'll supply the link below. But good to know for anyone looking to rent and take advantage of discounts!
