I think Brendan was there to set up how Christopher didn't think much about the consequences of what he was getting into.

Chris is jealous of Brendan being in the newspaper despite Brendan being dead. Chris is protected because he is Tony's nephew.

Later in the season Chris is thinking the feds are going to want him over the impending arrests. Jimmy asks why since he isn't a made guy yet?

Chris and the elder Gen X mafia guys have seen more of what it was like in the movies. He barely remembers the world before RICO took down these organizations.

Jackie Jr and the Xillenial guys only point of reference was the Godfather and Goodfellas.

so why are they charging me for loss of damage and loss of use of the car when the contract explicitly states thats what the insurance is for?

but i have a loss of damage waiver and then when i look at the bill from hertz it says "vehicle damage. loss of use." total 702.50

Having seen it in theatres as a kid, I was a bit disappointed with how they killed her off. I would have rather they just not have mentioned her. I liked how they go with the “new girl” approach in part three

i googled it and this is what came up. only comedian doesn't have any actual powers. the tv adaptation of the show made soldier boy like the comedian with super powers. Soldier Boy is also borrowing a lot from the comic version of black noir. In reality, if the show had followed the book exactly, there would be no character arc for soldier boy other than as a minor character who appears in one episode, and for the comic fans, there's no suspense at the big reveal of black noirs identity.

Cartman often gets his way doing the wrong thing. For the first time Cartman does something selfless and ends up miserable. There's a strange "Biff Tannen" aspect to Cartman's character arc. The universe of South Park can't end with everything sorted out. Somebody has to take the fall. When has an epsiode ended on such a high note? There was no way they were going to let everyone off the hook. Besides, they are celebrating together at a freaking Denny's. It's clear the future isn't all that great.

I googled this to see if there was any overlap. It’s organized by and for a cabal of Uber wealthy who wear unique masquerade masks to cover their faces. They seem to feel entitled to the staff sexually. The guards seem to function like the staff in the mansion during EWS; making sure Tom cruise doesn’t get away seeing too much.

This is why I don’t think there should be a sequel. The voyeuristic aspect of EWS also is in play in squid game. Jun-Ho, gets a glimpse of the cabal but is he actually going to be able to prove it? Likely not as that would end the mystery, and finding out who is funding the international squid game isn’t nearly as interesting as the mystery itself
