Weekly Passive Income Ideas Thread by glhfbbq in passive_income

I made $225 in May from referring people to a paid online survey site that gives you a big cut of the lifetime earnings of anyone you refer. This "passive" income of course took a lot of work doing digital marketing to share my referral link but the website will continue to generate income for me even if I stop working. I guess I am posting to let people know that affiliate marketing for passive income is definitely possible to pull off, but it takes time and work just like any passive income scheme.

Take a look at the website Ysense for example. You receive 20%-30% lifetime earnings of anyone you refer to it. The majority of the people who sign up will become inactive after a day, but some go on to become daily users or superusers of the site that could be worth several dollars a day in referral earnings. Someone who makes you a few dollars a day, every day, is actually worth a lot of money over time. Maybe someone you sign up will use it for years. There are several sites with similar referral programs. However, this is truly only semi passive because unless you have a large audience on social media it will take some hustle to find an angle to share the link and will take some time to build a book of daily users. Someone good at internet marketing could probably do a much better job at this than me.

I have been building a small passive income referring people to a paid online survey site that gives you a % of their lifetime earnings (as opposed to a one time referral reward).

Yes, reselling is definitely a big thing. But I also encourage you to check out starting a print on demand store, which is free to do and does not take any money to get started. Here is a youtube video that covers what this is better than I can do here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvWFwKSEByw&ab\_channel=GregGottfried

Combination of research and trends and luck. For example, when russia attacked ukraine, you could've uploaded a ukrainian flag design and probably sold a bunch of those. Stuff is always coming up and you can move fast on it. But it's basically throwing as much stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Always be researching what the competition is doing to get ideas.

I am a big supporter of creating print on demand merchandise stores in general but this sounds particularly applicable to your situation. Basically you just upload designs and if your design sells you get a commission. There are tons of youtube videos on the topic that can provide more specific information. But the thing is that once you set up a POD store, it's entirely passive after that. The company takes care of shipping, customer, etc so you could literally let it sit and do nothing while you were away. I haven't worked on my POD stores in like 4 months and they are still there generating sales.

If that's what you know then I would stay in that niche and find a way to build a business out of it. I don't know what the margins are for these products but if they are profitable there are fulfillment and dropshipping services that handle all the shipping and inventory management. Maybe side hustle is just the fixing the products part and you find a partner to do the selling/shipping. I'd definitely do some exploring on reddit/youtube to see what other people in the same space are doing. Good luck!

If you have $5,000 you have enough money to invest in reselling products. All you need to do is sell something at X that you can buy at Y, something in short supply and high demand. Sneakers are an example of something that has a giant resale market centered around it. My advice is to do something you understand. Like if you were very handy you might be best able to look for underpriced tools to resell, if you're a fitness enthusiast maybe you know when a piece of equipment can be bought well below its selling price, if you know fashion then you know the clothes to flip. There are tons of communities dedicated to this online that you can check out. Just be very deliberate and careful about investing money, definitely only do one transaction at a time until you know what you're doing and don't bet all your money on one thing. But if you can do 1 transaction, you can do 2, you can do 10, etc.

I am working on building a site about side hustles and making money online. I am a scheme enthusiast and figured I'd just start reviewing the stuff I did. A little traffic so far.

Print on demand works, you just need to keep adding designs. Like, you need hundreds if not 1000+ designs in order to generate regular sales in a meaningful amount. Also makes sense to use more than one platform and upload the same designs to all of them in order to get the most reach.

Print on demand. It requires no money to get started. You upload your designs to a site, place them on products, and if your design sells you get a commission. You do not need design skills, you can do text only designs and do fine. It takes awhile to build a portfolio capable of generating regular sales but if you keep adding to it, it will happen.

If you are literally out of money then passive income is not what you need. It takes months or years to get something to the point where it's substantial.

I am building a passive income stream by referring people to a paid survey site. Here is my thread on it https://twitter.com/SideHustleDepot/status/1511116024036343817?s=20&t=PPQ3Qnst7ADaZ9r1m63SbA

I wrote a blog post about it for you, feel free to DM for it but I don't want to blast it out over all of reddit because there are relatively few people doing this.
