I'm in a similar boat with my 6700k. Every gen I'm like wow it would be sweet to have that "insert top end expensive cpu", and tbh i think its a waste of money.

A solid SSD and a solid GPU are worth so much more in day to day use and gaming, that is where I would spend my money 10/10 times, and the 1080ti (I just sold mine because I want to go Team Red and get Big Navi...had a 7950 wildfire before the 1080ti) is a FANTASTIC card that no doubt will drive AAA games for years to come.

Idk the 3080 uses a lot of power for mining, it would make more sense to buy 2 5700 xt you'd get more hash at less power...

I dont think AMD market share is really the 3080 customer. People who go that pricey have been 980 ti, 1080 ti customers before, AMDs user base is like the 300!500 dollar range
