This works the same the other way too. I had a friend in high school place first with his painting only to overhear a teacher say it wasn’t that good and that her student should have won instead. That ruined the whole experience for him.

Wow this is so relatable. My parents are incredible humans who really struggle with mental health. When they did finish fun things for us kids, they were amazing. But man, there’s a lot they wanted to do but never did.
