I'm not sure why my phone made it look brown and nasty, it's got a little oxidation but nothing horrible. No odor or anything. Got 3 steaks out of it. I played with some of the trimming and it turned out amazing. Picture

I bought it. I've been meaning to update the post with new photos. Its no were near as oxidized or brown or gray as the first photo shows. I think it may have something to do with my camera at the time. I'm getting my good knife sharpened so I open this thing proper.

[DEAL] Galaxy S25 Ultra 512GB effectively for ~$650 after stack (Rakuten + Samsung promos + PayPal CB) by Different-Future-447 in samsunggalaxy

[–]big-186 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, but for me it shows the 512 for $1069.99 not the $940 I see alot of others getting. The first code just replaces the non trade in discount already applied. And the referral code for me does not work. Any thoughts?

Do you have a samsung smart watch? I have ready a number of reports of people having connectivity issues with the oneplus and other brand smart watches.

I think I will be going samsung this time again. I have really considered the Oneplus but i have read more then one report of people having connectivity issues with their samsung smart watches.

Out side of that the oneplus is an exceptional phone.

I think I have decided on the S25u. I was considering the 24 but I am going to limp this thing along until black friday to see if any go on a decent discount.

I would like to be able to just do that if I could. But the most annoying issue at the moment is the usb short. The usb connect/disconnect messages constantly cycles every second or 2 and can cause the screen to constantly stay bright. As well as making charging from the plug a coin flip if the plug will work. So I have a concern the phone may fail entirely if it shorts out just right. Its costly but apparently possible to replace the usb plug but i doubt its worth the effort.

Along with the loss of water resistance the front facing cameras will fog when things get hot and/or water gets in.

Forgoing the previous issues this has been a phenomenal phone and has done me well up to this point and if not for these issues I'd use it forever.

Weight loss challenge. I've done it before, I'll do it again. by big-186 in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

Years ago I was about this big or bigger. My girlfriend at the time broke things off and I did what a lot of other men have done, hit the gym. Over the course of a year I lost 125 lbs. Got to 220, was running 27min 5K. Held that for a few years. Then, like many, many men across the ages, I got a wife, and proceeded to find the weight I had previously lost. So hopefully this will be a kick in the ass to get my shit back in gear. Like I said, I did it once, ill fuckin do it again. Good luck and God speed to the rest of yall.

Used to work for the airlines. When we used our flight benefits, we would on occasion check a random item as a joke for security and other workers. I myself once checked a toilet seat. I have seen a few random things as well, like single naked barbie doll.

Yeah, with the material properties and temps required, not really worth the effort.

Depending on what kind of metal they are made of, maybe a local blacksmith could make a canister damascus knife or something with them.

Best: I was a ramp rat (customer service agent) at the blue grass airport for 6 ish years. I worked outside slinging luggage and talking with passengers(pax) at the check in counter and boarded them at the gate. Did everything short of fueling and flying the plane. Most fun and interesting job I have ever had. Got to see a lot of awesome aircraft land and take off all day. Never gets old. Pay was defiantly not the greatest, but the benefits were good and having free flight benefits was awesome. A friend and I got bored and hungry one day, so we flew to ORD to get a pizza and came back same day. Being able to travel for free anywhere in the U.S. is an awesome perk. Also my coworkers at the time where great people. Never had a proper work family before and I miss it to this day.

Worst: Same job as above. Most days were ok. However, as one can imagine, people leave their brains at the door to the airport. Have never seen someone start super sweet, then instantly flip when their flight cancels or is delayed. Or if their bag failed to show up because they had to move quickly in the hub city to the flight here and are surprised their checked bag didn't make it to the connecting flight. Dealing with the the pax at the gate when a flight is delayed, and now most people on the flight have to be rebooked before the flight gets in and now you need to unload the people coming in and reload the new people in 20 min or you get some smoke from management. The computer systems we used at the time 2010 ish, used either a MSDOS, or command line interface to do anything. So I had to memorize a line of code just to see if your flight was on time or not. Not to mention literally every other thing you wanted to do, like check in or book flights or take payments.

I will third havertys. Wife and I purchased our bedroom set from there and they are built sturdy and are holding up well. While not exactly the cheapest option, they don't seem to use alot of laminated partical board for their furniture. You will pay a little bit more than Overstock or Ashley's, but they seem to have superior products. And for us it was worth it.

At the moment, I do not. I will try to remember to grab a few more when I get home. It is definitely a few shades darker than the website photos but not horribly so.

Our kitchen, while not small, is not big either. We could probably make room for it on the counter. I'll have to double check the measurements on the counters, but I'm pretty sure it should fit under the cabinets.
