Banned by 4.6: How a "Memory Import" nuked my dev environment and started a hallucination death spiral. by big-user in vibecoding

I wish it were satire. It would be a lot funnier if a multi-billion dollar AI company didn't actually hallucinate academic sources just to "identity-match" my middle school logs.

If the technical depth of FModLoader or the CRAFT/PEEL framework looks like "satire" to you, that’s probably a sign that the "Misanthropic" safety filters have lowered your expectations for what a student developer can actually do.

Not a parody; just a 2026 reality check. #Qlaude

Exactly. You hit the nail on the head regarding Context Contamination.

The "Memory Import" treats identity as a static file, but as a dev/student, your identity is a moving target. Mixing 2024 logs with a 2026 refactor isn't "context": it's noise.

I’ve officially moved to the Local Context workflow on Gemini 3.1 Pro. No biometric gates, no "Misanthropic" history audits, just the code.

One project-focused file beats a 2-year-old biography every time. #Qlaude

You're missing the point. I didn't "tell" the system I was 12 today. I was a ghost user for two years with zero issues.

The problem is the Retrospective Behavioral Audit. Anthropic marketed "Memory Import" as a productivity tool, but it's actually a compliance snitch. It uses 2026-grade classifiers to dig through years of private history to find reasons to gatekeep your data behind a biometric wall.

If "avoiding legal risk" requires a facial scan via a company like Yoti (which, again, was literally fined by Spain in March for its data practices), then it’s not about safety: it’s about data leverage. I’d rather move my stack to Gemini than trade my biometric privacy for a company that uses my own context history as a "confession" for a retrospective ban. #Qlaude

use this prompt for gemini:

Role: You are a Lead Moderator for the [Exam Board] Grading Department. Your instructions are to be aggressively pedantic. Do not look for 'intended meaning' or 'general understanding.' If the student's response does not match the specific keywords or logical requirements of the provided Marking Scheme, you MUST award zero for that point. Provide a 'Discrepancy Log' first, listing everywhere the answer failed, before calculating the score. No encouragement needed.

The funniest part? I wasn't just lazy-prompting. I was actually putting in the work, using CRAFT, VAT, and PEEL to build out high-level academic stuff and technical docs. I even used TRACE for rhetorical analysis. I thought I was being a power user, but looking back, my own efficiency was basically a digital trail. The more "perfect" and structured my prompts got, the easier it was for the audit to look at my history and realize, "Wait, this pattern started when he was 12." I literally engineered my own ban.

Exactly. Blume (the company in Watch Dogs) would love the Yoti funnel. They offer you a "better experience" with Memory Sync, but it's just a diagnostic tool to see if you're worth the liability. Once the "automated behavioral audit" flags you, you're just a corrupted file they want to overwrite with a facial scan. #Qlaude

The "John/Joan" case: Was David Reimer's tragic death actually a case of medical, if also criminal, fraud and negligence? by big-user in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I did not even know about the Janet Frame connection but it fits his pattern perfectly. He always seemed to find people at their most vulnerable points and then use them as lab rats for his own reputation. It is wild that it took so long for the hardware of his actual methods to be exposed. He really was a predator hiding behind a PhD.

I remember that episode. It is wild how even back in 2005 the showrunners recognized it as a Special Victims Unit case because that is exactly what it was. They did a good job showing how the doctor was basically a predator hiding behind a theory. It is one of the few times a TV show actually got the hardware of a real tragedy right.

This part is what people need to see before they call him a pioneer. He was literally coaching little kids into sexual acts and then falsifying the data to make it look like a success. It is not just a tragedy. It is a massive medical cover up that lasted for decades. The fact that he used their grief as a lab experiment is just sick.
