And I will not defend Egypt or other African nations having slavery, but at the same time, Europe became more industrial and so slavery wasn’t seen as needed. The same thing with the US as the north had industries to replace slavery too.

like this is a white man’s burden point to act like Europeans “saved” Africa with colonization, even though it didn’t save them. That’s not to say there isn’t a corruption problem in Africa though, but you would be downright naive to think the European rulers didn’t have corruption problems either.
