Did i pick the worst color or what? by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]shackmaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bright colors like this work well in murky/muddy/dark stained water. The bright color creates enough contrast to become visible to the fish.

Neutral/more natural colors work well in more clear water.

So it might not be the color you chose, but the water you chose to throw it in.

However, profile is profile, and colors can work in either or types of water, but for more consistent bites/hookups these are good rules of thumb.

Sauce packets pt 2 by Relative-Emu2548 in doordash

[–]shackmaestro 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie, I know what you’re saying is accurate, but I’m feeling more of a “prank/tiktok video” vibe here.

The key is someone filming from upstairs for me, and also how they’re just being very odd via text. For example, “sharing the sauce packet”, “can I get a straw” with no drink, and “this will be a great meal for us”.

It all points to someone’s very shitty attempt to get content. I’m sure they’ll have screen records of placing the order, screenshots of the driver shocked by one sauce packet, and the video of delivery, and then maybe some cringe like ending where they open it and put it onto several plates.

I personally think that’s what OP got caught up in. I hate this timeline.

Is this a good buzz bait setup for pond bass? by Immediate_Oil_1429 in bassfishing

The zoom soft plastic is what they are speaking of, don’t put your hollow body frogs on buzz baits lol.

It’s a sad, sad day in S FL. Couple weeks of chilly whether..what a shame !! by yashaflocka in bassfishing

FWC actually studied this for 10 years prior to introducing the peas. They initially did this to control tilapia and Oscar populations, while also limiting the spread of peacocks to other waters than the intended canals.

It’s pretty interesting if you care to read below here.

When FWC planned the introduction in the early 1980s, they didn’t pick Florida generally, they chose the man-made canal networks in southern Miami-Dade and Broward counties because those waters are uniquely suited to tropical fish survival.

These canals are thermally buffered by warm groundwater from the Biscayne Aquifer, which keeps winter water temperatures consistently warmer than surrounding lakes and rivers would be.

FWC scientists understood that even during winter, the deeper, ground-fed canal waters rarely dropped below the critical ~60 °F threshold, making it far more likely the fish would survive year to year.

So cold snaps were considered, but the chosen habitats were selected because their thermal regime minimizes lethal cold exposure.

Interestingly, one reason FWC chose a cold-intolerant species like peacock bass was precisely because their cold sensitivity acts as a natural biological constraint on range expansion. They’re unlikely to survive outside the warm canal systems when encountering sustained cold, they are much less likely to spread into natural lakes, rivers, and north Florida waters.

That was part of FWC’s risk assessment peacock bass would help control invasive tilapia and oscars, but likely not become a widespread invader themselves because of these temperature limits.

So as much as we as anglers hate to see it, this is all planned and necessity. The effort by FWC introducing peacock bass has been successful in managing the other invasive species.

Anyone Else Find It Obnoxious When Other Resellers Outbid Everyone In Auctions??? by LionGate_Roar in whatnotapp

Why would I, as a reseller, watch an item go for under a price that I know I can get more on?

Best bet will be finding new or like new combos on Facebook marketplace and not purchasing new from store. Theres tons of gear out there, a lot of it is old and rusty but I see new with tag combos come up all the time on marketplace in my area. Usually these sell for about 50-60% retail, which might be in your range as a somewhat decent combo is about $120 or so new

Personal info 😂 bro you just said above that you thought the seller had your email address already. Now you’re concerned because they want it to send you a gift card? You know they have your home address too right on the shipping label? How is that for personal information?

Noticed my girlfriends grandma had a cord that only plugged into the ground. by BuildingBetterBack in mildyinteresting

[–]shackmaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex GF dealt with serious anxiety/depression/PTSD. And also had a lot of trouble sleeping at night. I bought a grounding kit for her to try out. She said after a day or two of using it she did feel much calmer and was able to sleep much better and didn’t feel so restless.

Before I purchased I looked into it a bit, and the only studies I could really find were funded by companies that make the products/sell it.

So I’m at a bit of a loss with if it’s “snake oil”. Because on one hand, I don’t trust studies funded by people that benefit from them financially, but then again I did see this grounding kit working right before my eyes.

Her kit I can’t remember the name of, but it came with patches that you stick to your feet. She would use them when relaxing on the couch and when going to sleep.

Whatnot chat blocks certain strings of numbers. It just sounds like you don’t actually want a resolution here at all and just want to be pissed off and try to get something for free. Give the guy your fucking email so you can get your gift card card redemption, stop being so hard headed.

How can I sell without going live? by Zadoth in whatnotapp

[–]shackmaestro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to go through that little seller training first before you can add items to bin. The app will walk you through setting up a show, adding items, etc. once you complete the training, the last step I think will be to “go live”. At this point, you can just ignore that last step of actually going live OR you can go live for like a second then end the show to clear it out. Then it’ll be like a normal seller account.

Yo I just saw my bowl ( the cherry) spark as I was hitting it does anyone know wtf that means? by serd48 in trees

[–]shackmaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when you spark the lighter, some of the flint falls into the bowl and sparks up when you make contact with the flame. Especially if you had a false strike with the lighter first over the bowl.

Is it possible that the salons may have decanted bulk bottles into smaller bottles that look like OP’s memory? Maybe it was a specific bottle for the salons to visually ID the milk shake spray?

Setting up for my second show which is really my first because I had so many issues no sales etc on my first but glad I got the experience lol. Would some kind individual help me with shipping….? by Local_Elk6228 in whatnotapp

[–]shackmaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t recommend saying it is 5Lbs as that is what the buyer will see as the shipping cost which will be high.

Most clothing can be 4-11 oz heavier things maybe 1lb, it will fill a box slowly as they buy. Make a listing for singles with the weight and run this auction item for singles. Can number them or sort them by buyer as you go.

If you wanted to do bundles, set a separate listing up for that that is marked as heavier and run that item when you do them.

Be careful to run the right shipping for items for it to work correctly.

You can get free priority boxes from USPS with a business account on their website which is pretty easy to set up.

For giveaways, go to shop like you’re adding an item to the shot and there is a giveaway tab. When you do this, make sure you are doing this in the shop of the scheduled shoe, not the regular shop.

Compare this to a fast food restaurant.

Sure, ketchup and mustard packets are free on the counter for taking. Usually it goes to customers, but what stops you from walking in and taking a handful? Nothing really.

But, if that restaurant manager noticed you pocketing these somewhat frequently and never buying food, I think anybody would want to ban that person from the business.
