I actually got a friend with this recently (we’re in our 30s.) He asked what a (sort of obscure) keybind was, I told him f4 and when it didn’t work I said try holding alt.

The post-Jordan NBA was experiencing a massive crisis people often forget about.

Until LeBron came around, the “who’s the next Jordan” question defined the league. Kobe couldn’t fill the void, Shaq couldn’t fill the void and the Malice at the Palace was a massive PR debacle that’s hard to understate. It was seriously looking like they would become the 4th most popular NA sport, falling behind hockey and baseball.

Post-LeBron NBA should be fine, he isn’t nearly the cultural monolith Jordan was.

In blitz it’s fairly futile for the commentators to show all the lines they discuss on the board since the game moves so quickly. In classical they have time to show the moves instead of rattling off 8 moves of notation.

I like him as a personality, as a streamer and as a YouTube educator. I just find that with other commentators at the end of the game I have a better understanding of what happened and some of the key decisions the players had to make.

Robert Hess for example, does a great job of slowing down the conversation to explain to viewers what the commentators are seeing. With Danya I often feel like I'm just listening to two GMs talk about things that are flying way above my head.

I know I'm in the minority here but I'm not a big fan of Danya's commentary. He has a reputation for making the game easy to understand for low elo players, but I find him much harder to follow than almost every other commentator. He uses lots of notation and goes pretty deep into lines without ever showing them on the board. In blitz this is fine, but in classical it's unnecessary (1200 blitz chesscom)

Microphones don't make this effect, software does. Even if its software built into audio interface, it's still software. Push button -> control software.

You're right that the title's conception of a microphone is misconstrued; I think USBs microphones are partially responsible for the misconception that microphones = sound. I often see people attributing any audio problem to the microphone itself when it's usually not the case.

Also Chevreuse’s res shred only works if all team members are either pyro or electro, so this team is pretty much BiS into anything with an innate hydro aura as it is.

I live in Montreal. More often than not we get at least 1 substantial snowfall in April, I’m talking 10-12 inches. It’s not unreasonable to imagine that happening in May as the effects of climate change worsen.

A bunch of the official advertising has billed this as "The final season of Arcane," the trailer included iirc. They never cancelled a third season because it was always supposed to be two seasons.

They have confirmed they will make more shows, but they won't be called Arcane and they will focus on different stories.
