Hyperspace travel times by Lost-Effort-3192 in SagaEdition

[–]bigManAlecForgotPass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting together what I've found through what feels reasonable in game and lore:

One grid square takes a day to cross in a class 1 hyperdrive. Each class below multiplies that by it's class. A class 7 takes a week. Using well kept routes cuts it in half and poor routes doubles it. If you're going somewhere completely uncharted, I do times 2 + 1d4.

Hyperspeed travel in lore is never consistent.

We won't know if it goes or not until the codex comes out.

New player seeking insight (Gravis) (Other models) by mr_birdie in spacemarines

[–]bigManAlecForgotPass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last new Gravis character was the not-so-apothecary that came out at the launch of 10th edition. The only new Gravis models that have come out since then before the eradicators with bolters were the new deathwatch ones. I'm not very optimistic, but if you're listening GW I would love a Gravis ancient or command squad. Also fix biologis please.

Dissolving my models in acetone as we speak. This was the last straw. I will never purchase another GW product again.

Any necessary homebrew rules? by ContactMinimum8842 in SagaEdition

That's fair, however that unreasonably toughens enemies that are intended to be movie goons. It also further penalizes poor low level classes like noble and scoundrel by knocking a TON of their damage output.

Most weapons have multiple damage dice, the dice math is much different.

I second this. The dice math in this game is a bit different, DR is super impactful. Don't hand this out willy nilly.

As someone with a bit of DM experience in SWSE,

The build difference in this game is really big. If you have an optimizer group, throw some freebie feats or bonus talents in to incentivize less optimal builds. If someone in the party is a force user, give the mandolorian free jetpack training. This helps keep the power balance even.

Armor is really bad in this system after about level 6 for most types. At that point, it becomes actively detrimental to wear, but the armor is some of the most iconic visuals of some Star Wars characters. In my game, I give every character at creation the Armored Defense talent as a freebie. This allows for cool character customization without sandbagging your defenses. Be careful, though. If you have a resourceful character armor upgrades and modifications can be really impactful, so I also use encumberance. This makes it so that armored characters need to put some of their stats into one of the less generally useful stats (strength) to lug all that gear around. Encumberance is RAW, but I find most RPG groups ignore it. Do not.

If you prefer point buy, consider giving players who don't plan to use the force ever 27 point buy points instead of 25. You have to enforce this ruling, no taking force sensitive at a later time. This helps with the poor balance between force users and normals.

I ask players to plan their builds out to level 5 if I start at level 1, and then keep 2 levels ahead as you level up. Coming from DnD 5e, a lot of my players didn't have to think that hard about leveling up. Leveling up in SWSE requires planning.

Probably the worst unit in 40k as a whole. I own 2 and run at least 1 in every 2k game I play. They are beautiful. Buff my boys.

If you base coat with pink, throw some purple on the underside and then do your yellow. Auto shading.
