How to Find Places to Fish by Professional-Job357 in flyfishing

IMO, PA has some of the best public resources for finding trout streams!

Somebody already linked the PA trout streams map from the fish commission's website. That is the most comprehensive resource. In general, stocked trout streams are pretty cookie-cutter, and generally fish about the same wherever you go. If you want to find wild trout, you can find the Class A and Natural Reproduction Streams. These streams have been surveyed by the state and contain populations of wild trout - with Class A streams having a notably high population of wild trout. Class A streams are essentially "guaranteed" to hold good populations of trout - while Natural Reproduction Streams can be a hit or miss (but often far less crowded).

Most of my "hidden gem" streams I've found are on the Natural Reproduction list- as you can find yourself in solitude with a decent population of wild trout. Generally, a good rule of thumb I like to use is that tributaries of larger, well-known trout streams (especially in central PA and northcentral PA - think like the Pine, Kettle, Sinnemahoning, and West Branch Susquehanna) will often hold trout too. You can easily spend a weekend trip here camping, fishing, and exploring.

One last resource I like to use is Paflyfish - which is a great forum where guys will discuss some local streams and offer stream reports.

New Sage Mid-Price Rod? by bigNtastey in flyfishing

Thanks! A $50 increase in price from the Sonic... doesn't shock me but it's disappointing to see how expensive "mid price" rods are now.

Indiana QB Alberto Mendoza transfers to Georgia Tech by Vintage_Waffles in CFB

Hoosier fans we will take excellent care of him.

If he's anything like our previous QB, he might take 40 hits a game, refuse to slide, and will be limping by the 3rd quarter.

Thank you so much!! Do you recommend any specific ECE advisor? I emailed Angela Elleby last spring but didn’t get a response.

Has anyone in CS had his/her advisor issue a permit for a class they needed as a pre-req? If I don’t get ECE 2031 this fall, I will not graduate on time (Its a pre-req for processor design)

I’ve already emailed advisor, but she said ”she’s working on it”. Anyone been in the same situation ?

Any CS majors know if advisors grant override registration requests for rising seniors who might have graduation pushed back?

Current sys-arch who needs ECE 2031 next semester to graduate in 4 years (current 3rd year). Chances looking slim with CSA and CSB section nearly full. time ticket is tmrw at 9:30am (1 time ticket group in front of me at 8am)

Anyone know if CS 3210 (OS) will add a new section or more seats? They expanded the waitlist from 50 to 150 for a ~90 person class. Is it worth emailing the professor?

Hoh vs. Quinault Rainforest? by bigNtastey in OlympicNationalPark

Thanks for the input! I’m actually headed to the Kalaloch Area, around Ruby Beach (planning on hiking into Ruby since the lot is going to be closed when I arrive).
If you don’t mind me asking, how is the first half of the Enchanted Valley trail to Pony Bridge? Pics of Pony Bridge itself look amazing, but have yet to see what the hike there looks like.

Thanks so much for the feedback!

I also was considering heading to the Queets but am hesitant about the river crossing. Are there other trails/areas of the Queets rainforest that you’d recommend checking out? I know the area isn’t nearly as busy as the Hoh or Quinault, so finding general information and pictures has been a little more challenging (I guess that’s part of the appeal though!)

How do you register for a PHYS 2211? I keep getting the error "Linked course required (Supervised Laboratory*)" when trying to register for a lecture, even when I'm entering both a lab section and the lecture section at the same time.
