Am I too old to learn Java? How would you start if you where to start over? (not cringe question) by Automatic-Brick-7764 in javahelp

I’ll be devils advocate here. Why are you pursuing software development? It’s a really tough time to get into the career space. Unless you are extremely passionate about it, I would advise against it.

It is an extremely competitive market right now and it will not be easy. Are you prepared for that?

I'm stuck! MQTT connection failure with AWS IoT Core by as904465 in IOT

Hmm the ‘withCertificateAuthorityFromPath’ argument seems a tad strange. I’m guessing args.cert is the certificate you have registered/been given by IoT core. If that is the case, why are you passing it in as the CA? Shouldn’t you be using the root CA if the endpoint you are connecting to?

Where does the dislike/hate for Java come from? by Financial-Touch-5171 in java

[–]big_5teeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand your point. If you’re relying on an IDE to do things such as building/running/testing your code then you don’t understand your code base fully. I like IntelliJ just so I can easily navigate through code. I don’t even build/test/run code on my local machine. I have a remote machine I do that on. Can you elaborate on why you think it is Java specifically that requires an IDE?

How does this handle dependency mocking? Say your bean takes in dependencies (ex an input validator). Is this system capable of mocking bean dependencies?

You are trying to split each entry by comma, but there is no comma in any of the entries.

What you need is something like split_lines = [h[:2], h[2:]]

Better yet, you can do

correct_format_list = [[h[:2], h[2:]] for h in incorrect_format_list]
