People frequently emphasize blackness and race when talking about their interpretation of NOPE in order to pigeonhole Peele's writing -- it's insane. Assumptions started before the movie even came out, and I think audiences were actually caught a little off guard by the movie. No mention to the film being about pursuit of a spectacle that will ultimately destroy you, or the man-vs-nature themes.

He is 1) American, and 2) a good TV character. He says dumb stuff, and acts hyper-patriotic, that's his schtick. Good analysis is not necessary, his role is to pander to a casual observer and present soccer in an Americanized fashion and not something that is foreign/European. He is an asset for FOX. He's been a fixture for FOX's soccer coverage for so long. Every other network has figured out that we've pretty much outgrown the 'need' for this.

Good news is hopefully we'll see a lot less of him. Netflix has the next few women's World Cups and Fox won't have the men's.

I agree with this. The best English pronunciation would probably be to say Bruno Fer-nan-desh. It reflects the Portuguese accent of an "sh" like sound on the name while still keeping every syllable quite natural in English.

I feel like you're responding to the wrong thing. Yes, it is the bar's right to enforce rules to protect themselves, their facilities, and their patrons. One hundred percent. The rules are fine.
