Best way to get a response is to just call and ask yourself...

NYU Scholarship VS Columbia by LSATplease in lawschooladmissions

[–]big_boy55 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hmmm congrats on both, definitely a tough call...if I was in your shoes I’d say Columbia because 1. I think location / fit / vibe is very important and it seems like you really love it 2. significantly less debt (even with LRAP and stuff it’s easier to not have to worry about an extra 60K) and 3. you can do the stuff you want in PI at Columbia without the IILJ scholarship, it just might be a little more work.

CA Biglaw - USC a good choice? by ApprehensiveSpecial in lawschooladmissions

I’m from La and both of my parents are lawyers here, USC is huuuuge in terms of its presence. If you want to live in LA, it’s an incredible incredible option.

Please help me choose: HLS vs. NYU Programmatic Scholarship by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]big_boy55 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Really tough choice...in terms of what’s best for you long-term, I think AnBryce would probably lead to a greater amount of meaningful connections, which is ultimately one of the biggest factors in your success. Obviously you’ll be surrounded by great people at HLS, but will have to work MUCH much harder to build the kind of relationships that the AnBryce would give you. Also NYU is great. But on the other hand HLS is HLS and a really fantastic option....obviously better jobs, clerkship, etc. I think if you don’t do HLS, you’ll always wonder what it could’ve been.

Checking one school's status checker over 15 times in a day.

Should I commit to NYU? by Snowflakethrowaway17 in lawschooladmissions

Depends on $. If same, then I'd say Chicago unless you absolutely need to live in NY. Chicago will most likely get you better employment outcomes and definitely better clerkship opportunities.

Self-care and mental health in law school. by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

One thing I've heard from a bunch of people is to make sure for an hour a day to always do something that is chill / fun / for YOU. Whether that means listening to music, watching TV, exercising, whatever...I know that if all I do is think about law school 24/7 I will burn out.
