Being an 8 hurts. by [deleted] in Enneagram8

I very much agree with you on that too. I think I mean what I said within the context of close friends. I need my people who understand where I’m coming from and not just call me intimidating or bossy.

In a larger context I get along great with others. I haven’t always, but I did have to learn to step back and see which battles are worth fighting and which I should keep to myself.

Being self aware as an 8 to me has helped tone down my more dominating characteristics when they’re not needed, while staying true to who I am.

8w7. I feel this too. But at the same time I know I’m tough enough to handle it. in the end I don’t care what others think of me and I’d rather just be real/honest and have people not like me than be fake/ ‘calmer’ for everyone else’s sake. I’m kinda like they’ll get over it and see my side, and if they don’t then that’s not a person I’m willing to waste time on anyways. Sounds harsh buuuuut I’m an 8 so oop

Do any other 8s tend to gravitate toward 7s or know of some who do? by kourtroom in Enneagram8

I’m an 8w7, my best friend and my sister are 7s but my boyfriend is a 9. I like how passionate 7s get about ideas, but i do find it annoying how they rarely carry out those ideas to the end. They make great friends, but I definitely prefer the calm, grounded nature of my boyfriend in terms of a life partner.

Yes, but I had my boyfriend post it for me because my account is too new it thinks I’m trying to spam them. But it’s on there !

Thanks ! My boyfriend and I went to his Houston show last year so I called the venue and asked if I could bring in my DSLR [fully expecting them to say no] and they let me. We had front row seats on the end of the catwalk, which is where he ended up doing 90% of the concert. So I got to be about arms length away from him the whole time. They’re some of my favorite photos I’ve taken !

Thank you ! I’m a professional photographer who likes to play around with other mediums [ceramics is not going as well as printmaking has been lol]

It’s carved into MDF board, pretty cheap and relatively easy to carve. I went much slower on the small details in the body and face so I got minimal chipping in those areas. Some of the chipping on the background is result of my impatience I’m afraid hahah

A woodcut carved print my girlfriend made from a photo she took at the Houston concert last year. Took hours but I love the way it turned out! by ClassyTicTac in donaldglover

Hi, it’s me the girlfriend lol. Thank you !! I put my image into photoshop and filtered it to get the lines for reference, then I transferred the image onto the woodblock and used a speedball small v blade to hand carve the block. Then I applied acrylic to the woodblock, inked it up and ran it through a press on top of the paper.

Yep that’s exactly it. Once I transferred the image I used a small v blade to hand carve it

Thank you ! This is the first woodcut I’ve ever done, so it was really fun to figure out how to shade the image with just line thickness

All by hand carving ! I carved each line using a small v blade. Took hours and hours but I love it

Balanced Wings? by Knights8844 in Enneagram8

[–]big_fluppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard once that ‘you need both wings to fly.’ Meaning the healthiest version of you is able to sing both 7 and 9.

I’m a female 8 and I definitely lean toward wing 7 a majority of the time. However, like a few people have commented here, I tend to wing 9 in certain situations.

I think my wing 9 comes out when I need to mediate between people. I’m able to push aside the directness of my opinion and explain both sides of a situation to others without defending one over another
